WARRANTY SAFETY
Always consult a specialist in the event of malfunction of the braking system, pressure loss or
leakage of liquid from the system. Danger!
To stop the pads rubbing against one another when the wheels have been removed, use the safety
brackets or spacers supplied with the brakes.
Do not touch the brake lever when the wheels have been removed.
If it is dif cult to mount the wheels because the pads are too close together, use the spacers supplied to
keep them the correct distance apart.
During transport, use the safety brackets for the brake callipers.
Do not transport the Torpado Impudent mountain bike with the handlebar and saddle facing down
as this could impair the brakes. Danger!
5. WHEELS
A. AIR PRESSURE, TYRES AND INNER TUBES
The wheels ensure the contact of your Torpado Impudent mountain bike with the ground. The wheels are
subjected to considerable stress through the weight of the rider and the bumpy road surface.
After a break-in period of between 150-400 km, the spokes lose tension. The wheels may need to be
checked and they should be centred despite having been produced with precision and delivered already
centred. After this settling phase, the wheels must be checked without having to recentre them.
The wheel consists of a rim, spokes and a hub.
The tyre is mounted on the rim with the inner tube
inside it. The latter is quite delicate, so to protect
it against the spoke nipples, a protective tape is
applied on the inside of the rim (fl ap, rim tape).
Before fi tting a new tyre, it is important to check the
size which is normally indicated on the side of the
tyre.
The numbers shown on the side of the tyre provide
different information, for example 57-559, where 57
indicates the width in millimetres of the infl ated tyre
and 559 indicates the inner diameter in millimetres.
The numbers 29”x2.2”, on the other hand, indicate: 29” is the diameter of the tyre in inches and 2.2 the
inner section in inches.
Always follow manufacturer’s recommendations as regards the maximum size that the frame or the fork
can accommodate.
Tyres that are too big or wide can interfere with the frame and fork.
Fitting a tyre with another size than the standard size mounted (bigger, higher or wider) can cause
clearance problems between the front wheel and your foot when pedalling slowly.
