Before its first use, the hard drive must be partitioned and formatted:
To format the hard drive, right click with the mouse on My Computer and
then select Manage.
In Windows 7, select Start, right click on Computer and select Manage.
Select Disk Management. Here you will find a list of the hard disks and
drives you can format.
Right click on the desired hard drive and select Partition. It is possible that
the disk must still be first initialized.
We recommend using the NTFS file system for Windows PCs. You can then
reformat the hard disk.
Caution:
Ensure that you have selected the correct disk to format; any data on the
selected hard disk will be lost during partitioning and formatting!
