Version for “professional” drivers from age 6:
The race for “professional” drivers is driven in the same way as the basic version, but
with the following minor changes.
Road signs “Warning – 2nd gear” / “Warning – 3rd gear”:
Before starting the race, put the two road signs “Warning 2”
and “Warning 3” on an empty playing fi eld of your choice.
(You cannot put the two signs beside each other.) These signs
indicate a dangerous section on the course. If you move onto
or over these fi elds, you must not do so in a higher gear than
second or third. If you are in a higher gear, you will not
manage this section without an accident … and will have
to part with one wheel.
How do you move your car along the playing board?
When it is your turn you may, as in the basic version of the game, move your gear
shift up or down one gear. There are two options:
1. You can (as described before) throw the dice to move your Cars fi gure forwards
along the race track. A player in fi rst gear throws one dice, in second gear two
dice, and so on.
2. Or you move your fi gure along by the number of fi elds indicated on the gear
shift. If you are in fi rst gear you may move along one fi eld; if you are in second by
two fi elds, if you are in third gear by three fi elds, and if you are in fourth gear
you move along by four fi elds. This means you can drive so that you reach the
fi elds you want to get to.
Of course, accidents in the form of oil puddles or being bumped into by another car
can also happen in the “pros’” race. As described in the basic version of the game, if
you are involved in an accident you must move down into fi rst gear, and you lose a
wheel. If your turn ends on Mater, then one wheel is returned to you. If you land on
a High-speed fi eld then you may throw one dice one more time.
The fi rst player to cross the fi nish line after 3 (or 4) laps is the “Pros’ Race Champion”
and wins the game!
