Finally, each player takes the gear
shift to match his token. Carefully
remove the excess cardboard from the
middle and put the gear stick in the
gear shift in position 0. Now attach
the 4 wheels to the gear shifts and
stick the rims to the wheels. Put any
gures, tokens and gear shifts that
are not required back in the box. And
now the race can begin!
On your marks, get set, go!
The youngest player goes fi rst, then continue playing in a clock-
wise direction. Whenever it is your turn, you may move your gear
shift by one gear up or down. Look carefully to see which gear
you have selected, because you may now throw that number
of dice. (Example: If you have selected fi rst gear you can throw
one dice. If you are in second gear, then you may throw two dice
etc.) Now move your fi gure along the race track by the number
of points thrown. Continue playing like this in turn. Whenever
you complete a lap move your token along one square on the lap
counter.
Warning – accident!
Little accidents happen throughout the course of the race. Cars may skid on an oil
puddle, or be bumped into by another car … and although nothing serious ever
happens, there are always consequences.
If your car ends on a fi eld with an oil puddle then you must shift down to fi rst gear,
and you lose one of your wheels.
If another player bumps into you by moving his fi gure onto the fi eld where your car
is, then you must also shift down to fi rst gear, and you lose one of your wheels.
Lost wheels go into the workshop (in the middle of the playing board).
As long as your car (gear shift) still has one wheel, you can continue driving after
an accident when it is your turn. Shift up a gear, throw the dice and move your Cars
gure along the race track.
