DETERMING LIGHTING
RATIOS
The memory
function of the
Flash
Meter
lV
can
be used to determine the
lighting
ratio of
various
light
sources.
This is especially
useful
when determining
lamp-to-subject
distances
for
a
particular
modeling
effect.
When
using the optional
Minolta
Booster ll,
it
is
possible
to
check
the
distribution of
light across
a
camera's
groundglass
surface.
To use:
Attach
the optional
flat diffuser.
Set
the
measuring-mode selector
to the
required
setting:
"AMBl",
"CORD",
or
"NON.C".

While holding the meter
at
the subject
position,
point
the meter's receptor
at
the
light
source
to be
measured
and
press
the
measuring button to take a
reading.
Press
the
memory
button
to
memorize
the
reading.

reading of the light source
you
want to
compare
by
following
the
same
procedure.

correspond
to the two light
sources
that

Check the
difference between
the
pointers.
When
the
f-number
scale
is
displayed,
the
pointers
indi-
cates exposure
with half-stop
accuracy. Using
the
contrast scale,
quarter-stop
accuracy
is indicated.
To
check lighting
ratios more
precisely,
press
the
on/recall
switch.
The
first
reading will be displayed
in
"ExlN"
stops
on the LCD
panel.
Then,
press
the on/recall button again
to display the
"ExlN"
value for
the second
reading.
Find
the
difference
between the
two
readings.
Refer to the table
below to determing
