Please connect the receiver as shown in fi gure
1
. When connect-
ing one tower it is irrelevant which speed controller-connector you
choose to connect the receiver/tower. Please take into considera-
tion that the WIRELESS system only works with the signals of the
Wireless speed controller being able to be received by the receiver,
not being interrupted by any objects or persons.
The Carrera DIGITAL 124/132 Black Box allows a mixed operation
of WIRELESS- and wired speed controllers ( up to a maximum of
6 speed controllers).
Switch on Black Box as per fi gure
2
. Turn on speed controller on
bottom-side (fi g.
3
). Directly after the speed controller has been
switched on the speed controller´s encoding will be indicated by
the number of fl ashings, see fi gure
4
(e.g. fl ashing 3x = speed
controller 3). After 2 seconds the LED switches to a fl ashing rhythm
at regular intervals indicating readiness for operation. In case the
speed controller is not activated it automatically switches to the
energy-saving mode after 20 seconds. By pressing the tappet or the
lane-change-button the speed controller can be reactivated.

). LED lights permanently
(fi g.

). Release lane-change-button and push accordingly (e.g.
push 2x = speed controller 2)(fi g.

). Confi rm programming by
pressing speed controller´s tappet (fi g.
4
). Successful program-
ming will be indicated by LED fl ashing according to the encoding
(fi g.

).
Insertion/exchange
of batteries
OFF/ON
1 2
To operate the WIRELESS speed controller 3 x AA (R6) batteries
are required (not included in delivery). A reduced range between the
speed controller and the receiver/tower and a minor driving perform-
ance of the vehicles are an indication of a battery power drop. In this
case the batteries need to be exchanged at the bottom of the speed
controllers (fi g.
1
) as illustrated (fi g.
2
).
Using new batteries/rechargeable batteries a permanent playing
time of approx. 48 hours or a standby time of approx. 200 hours
can be assumed.
ATTENTION:
Operation with rechargeable batteries is not possible.

This Carrera DIGITAL 124 vehicle ideally matches the Carrera track
system scale 1:24.

Besides replacing the guide keel, the complete magnet units
(
A

) as well as the distance plates (a) beneath the magnets
may be removed and added respectively. The more distance plates
(a) and magnet units (b) are used the stronger the magnetic eff ect
is on the track. As soon as a magnet is installed, the metal plate (c)
has to be used. Depending on the car type it is advisable to remove
or not to implement the spacing plate when using a Carrera crossing
or high banked curve. With those track elements being used, slight
driving noises may occur. These are caused by the cars´ scale au-
thenticity and do not have any infl uence on a faultless operation.

Optimally setting up the grinders:
To ensure proper and continuous driving, slightly fan out the ends
of the contact brushes
2
and bend them towards the track as per
g.
3
. Only the end of the contact brush should have contact to the
track and may be cut off slightly in case of wear. Dust and abrasion
should be removed from track material and sliding contacts from
time to time.

Make sure that the car’s guide keel is located inside the
track slot and that the double sliding contact is in contact with the
current carrying track.
Place the cars onto the connecting track.
3
When changing lanes, you must keep the button on the
speed controller depressed until the car has passed the point.

contact brushes and guide keel

In case the car is lifted, the rocker bar folds up slightly (fi g.
1
).
For changing the guide keel or the double contact brushes the
rocker bar can be folded up widely according to fi g.
2
.
3
For changing the guide keel and the double contact brushes the
guide keel should be removed fi rst.
4
Afterwards both double contact brushes can be removed and
changed. Please take care that in stage one the upper contact
brush
4
a
is only pulled out partly and in stage two the double
contact brush is pulled out completely with the contact brush
4
b
For inserting please proceed the same way.

For the use with high banked curves
In order to variably reduce or enlarge the distance between the car
and the track, the screw (a) in fi g.
1
has to be brought either into a
lower or into a higher position.
Screwed in = minimum ground = clearance in the front
Unscrewed (as far as possible) = maximum ground clearance
in the front
ATTENTION! With the screw being fi xed in the highest position it
is not guaranteed that the front wheels will have contact with the
track.
