Pc Afkorting voor 'personal computer'; een
elektronisch rekenapparaat dat is ontwikkeld voor
gebruik door individuele personen en dat
gewoonlijk 'computer' wordt genoemd. Afhankelijk
van het geïnstalleerde besturingssysteem,
worden dergelijke apparaten 'computer' of
'personal computer' genoemd. In deze
handleiding staat pc voor een apparaat waarop
het Microsoft

Windows

-besturingssysteem is
geïnstalleerd.
PDA Afkorting voor 'personal digital assistant'; een
elektronisch rekenapparaat met de grootte van
een handpalm. Omdat werd aangenomen dat
elektronische apparaten zouden worden gebruikt
in plaats van papieren notitieblokken, zijn de
oorspronkelijke apparaten die op de markt
kwamen, niet uitgerust met telefoonfuncties.
PDA's met draagbare telefoonfuncties zijn echter
recentelijk ontwikkeld. Omdat PDA's niet zijn
uitgerust om meerdere functies uit te voeren,
zoals een pc, beschikken deze niet over
afdrukfuncties. De Brother Mobile Software waar
deze printer over beschikt, is speciaal ontwikkeld
om het afdrukken van een reeks gegevens
afkomstig van PDA's mogelijk te maken waarop
het besturingssysteem Microsoft PocketPC 2003,
PocketPC 2003 SE of Windows Mobile
(TM)
5.0 is
geïnstalleerd.
