Grabadoras de CD-R/RW están equipadas con una memoria búfer, que almacena
temporáneamente los datos que se están transfiriendo. Cuando la memoria búfer se
vacía debido a una demora en la transferencia de datos por cualquier motivo, se
produce un error de escritura. Tal condición se denomina subejecución del búfer
(Buffer Underrun), y el error se conoce como error de subejecución del búfer (Buffer
Underrun Error).
Buffer Underrun Protection es una característica de la grabadora CRW3200SX.
Cuando está por producirse la subejecución del búfer (Buffer Underrun), la función
Buffer Underrun Protection suspende temporalmente el proceso de escritura. La
escritura se reanuda cuando se vuelven a acumular datos suficientes en la memoria
búfer. Buffer Underrun Protection de la grabadora CRW3200SX es sumamente
precisa, lo que se traduce en una grabación sin saltos alrededor del punto de
detención.
Prueba de escritura
La prueba de escritura es una función que permite verificar la posibilidad de que se
produzca una subejecución del búfer (Buffer Underrun) en el sistema informático.
Cuando Buffer Underrun Protection del software de escritura de CD está activada, la
función de prueba de escritura no funciona. Buffer Underrun Protection se debe
desactivar para poder utilizar la función de prueba de escritura.
Disc-at-Once (DAO, Un disco cada vez)
Este método se utiliza para escribir todos los datos en un disco en una sola
operación. El mismo escribe los datos sin dejar espacio entre ellos, comenzando por
la pista más interna del disco. Cuando los datos se escriben utilizando este método,
no se puede añadir ningún otro dato al disco incluso si en éste hay espacio libre. Este
método es útil para realizar una copia de seguridad de un CD completo.
Track-at-Once (TAO, Una pista cada vez)
Este método se utiliza para escribir datos en un disco pista por pista. Una pista se
puede definir como la unidad de menor área que contiene un programa normal, datos
de imagen, datos de texto, etc. Este método permite añadir datos al mismo disco, una
pista de datos por vez, siempre que quede espacio libre en el disco. Los discos que
contienen datos grabados en diferentes sesiones se denominan discos multisesión.
Se denomina sesión, un área que almacena datos e información de funcionamiento
(Inicio/Final). El Inicio y el Final son señales escritas para definir los puntos de
inicio y final de una sesión.
Los reproductores de CD de audio comunes pueden reproducir sólo discos de una sola
sesión o la primera sesión de un disco multisesión. No grabe datos de sonido a partir de la
segunda sesión.
