USE
When using for the first time, wipe the surface of the plates with a damp cloth, then dry.
Protective coating burn off will cause smoking on first use. This is not harmful and will
disappear after a short while. However, we advise you to operate the appliance empty
for about 10 minutes before using it for the first time.
The non-stick coating allows you not to make use of grease or oil for most foods. For low-
fat foods such as fish or vegetables, you can grease the grill plates. However, to grill meat
or marinated food, grease is not necessary.
Open the grill to make sure there is nothing on the grilling surface. Close the grill and insert
the plug into the power socket. The red power light will come on, indicating that the
appliance is heating.
When the temperature is reached, the green pilot light illuminates. The pilot light will come
on and out according to the heating cycle. This means that the thermostat regulates the
temperature automatically during use.
Caution: the grill plates become very hot during use. Pay attention not to get burned.
When the grill has reached the right temperature, open it by lifting the upper plate.
Put the foods on the lower grill plate and close the lid.
Slide the grease collecting tray under the grease draining opening of the grillplate, in
order to collect the grease that might come out of the grill during use.
Let the foods grill. As all foods have a different baking time, it is impossible to predict their
exact baking time. In order to avoid overcooking, check the foods regularly during the
grilling process
When the foods are ready, remove them from the grill and put them in the appropriate
dish. Do not use any sharp metal utensils to remove them from the grill, as this might
damage the non-stick coating. Use a wood or plastic spatula.
Unplug the appliance after use.
CLEANING
Unplug the appliance and let it cool down before cleaning it.
Clean the grill plates with a damp cloth, sponge or paper towel.
To make cleaning easier use a wooden or plastic spatula to remove food residues from
the grooves of the grill plates. Do not use hard, sharp utensils. If the grill plates are very
dirty, use mild washing-up product. Rinse with hot water and dry the plates carefully. The
cleaning succeeds best when the grill plates are still slightly hot.
To clean the housing, use a damp cloth, if necessary with some mild washing-up product.
Never clean your appliance with abrasive products.
Make sure no water penetrates inside the appliance.
Never clean the appliance under running water. Never immerse it in water or any other
liquid.
