Installation Instructions
This photo-cell controller
measures ambient bright-
ness and automatically
switches the light ON at
dusk and OFF again at
dawn. Whether you want
light to come ON at the
front door, on the patio or
under the carport, this
photo-cell controller is
installed and ready for
operation in next to no
time wherever you wish
to use it.
The built-in photosensor
registers the ambient
light level and switches
the connected light ON
in the even-ing and
ON again in the morning
all automatically.
Wall mounting
Caution: Installation
means making connec-
tions to the mains power
supply. 230 V means dan-
ger to life! Therefore,
switch off the power first
and use a voltage tester
to make sure the wiring is
off circuit.
Installation of the photo-
cell controller involves
work on the mains power
supply; this means it must
be done properly in ac-
cord-ance with VDE 100.
Please note that the
photo-cell controller must
be protected by a 10 A
circuit breaker. The mains
connection lead must be
no greater than 10 mm in
diameter.
It important to make sure
that the NightMatic 2000 is
not affected by the light
from the luminaire con-
nected (e.g. from direct ex-
posure to light).
Using a screwdriver, undo
the four housing screws by
turning them anti-clock-
wise and remove the hous-
ing cover.
Hold the electronic sys-
tem's housing against the
wall and mark where to
drill the holes, paying
attention to any wiring
already existing in the wall,
drill holes; insert wall
plugs. When installing,
make sure the wires are
fed in from below wherever
possible. Before screwing
on the housing, pierce
through the condensation
water holes at the bottom.

The unit has the following
marked terminals:
N = Neutral-conductor
terminals
(2 x ) (usually blue)
