The Smart Mute setting provides an alternative alert when approaching a speed trap. If you are travelling below the posted speed
limit when approaching a speed trap the unit will provide only a brief audible alert but will then automatically mute the audible alert
completely giving you only a low level visual alert. If you are travelling above the posted speed limit however, you will receive both
an audible and a visual alert as normal. If you drop below the speed limit during the alert the audible alert will stop immediately
leaving just the visual alert.
To adjust the Smart Mute setting
Enter the menu and scroll until ‘Smart Mute is displayed and press the ‘OK’ button.
Highlight your desired option ‘ON or ‘OFF’ and press the ‘OK’ button to confirm your selection.
6. Schools
My-Speed allows you the option of choosing whether or not you would like to receive advanced warnings of Primary Schools
(Schools are time sensitive on the My-Speed – 08:30-09:30am, 12:00-13:00 and15:30 to 16:30). This feature is switched ‘ON’ by default.
However if you wish to turn this alert off (at weekends for example) you can do this by using this facility.
Note: The unit can only alert you to Primary Schools if you have selected to download ‘UK Schools’ on the download software.
The unit will alert to schools at the times specified above every day.
To turn School alerts ‘ON’ or OFF’
Enter the menu and scroll until ‘Schools’ is displayed and press the ‘OK’ button

Black spots that may not currently have Fixed speed traps installed near them but which are still considered as High Risk Zones as
mobile speed traps may be positioned there. This option is switched ‘ON’ by default and locations are downloaded as part of the
AURA speed trap database.
