Speed camera detection
As well as alerting you to speed limits and speed limit changes My-Speed also alerts you to speed traps and cameras.
1. Registering and downloading My-Speed.
First register My-Speed at www.snooperneo.co.uk where you will also find information on subscription costs.
Next add the My-Speed updater software to your PC using the CD Rom provided. Put the CD Rom in to the CD drive of your PC and
follow the simple on-screen instructions displayed.
Once you have successfully updated My-Speed with Snooper’s AURA speed camera database the unit will alert you to the presence
of all types of speed traps. For further information on the AURA speed camera database please visit www.snooper.eu
2. Set Alert Range
This feature allows you to adjust the distance that My-Speed will detect from when approaching a ‘Fixed’ speed trap. You can set your
pre-alert distance in 50 metre increments from 50m to a maximum of 1000m or alternatively you can select Auto Auto-range simply
selects the correct alert distance to each camera detected depending on the speed limit of the road the camera is situated on. The
different alert distances are shown below.
Speed Limit Pre-Alert
20mph 250m
30mph 300m
40mph 350m
50mph 400m
60mph 700m
70mph 700m
Please note that the device is set to Auto as the default setting.
To manually adjust the pre-alert distance:
Enter the menu and scroll until you see ‘Set alert range’ and press the ‘OK’ button.
Next select ‘User and press the ‘OK’ button.
Use the up and down buttons to select the alert distance you require and then press the ‘OK’ button to confirm your selection.
3. Automute
When your device alerts you to a location, rather than continually beeping throughout the alert it will beep briefly at your selected
volume and then automatically mutes the sound to a lower level until you have passed or moved out of range of the speed trap.
Note: This function is built into the unit and cannot be switched on or off.
4. Voice Alerts
My-Speed has a selectable voice alert which is switched ‘ON by default.
To alter the settings for voice alerts:
Enter the menu and scroll until Voice Alerts’ is displayed and press the ‘OK’ button.
Highlight your desired option ‘ON’ or ‘OFF’ and press the ‘OK’ button to confirm your selection.
Note: If voice alerts are turned ‘OFF’ the unit will alert you to the location of a speed traps by a series of beeps. The visual display
will remain the same.
