Let erop dat u de Alecto Dataplug niet aansluit op een stopcontact met
overspanningsbeveiliging of een een stopcontact achter een UPS, dus
rechtstreeks op het 230Volt lichtnet. Let erop dat in gebouwen met een
meerfase installatie u bij gebruik van de Alecto Dataplug dezelfde fase
gebruikt.

In de verpakking van de Alecto Dataplug treft u het volgende aan.
• 1 x (140-850) of 2 x (142-852) Alecto Dataplug Adapter
• gebruiksaanwijzing
• 1 x (140-850) of 2 x (142-852) category 5 UTP kabel
• installatie CD-ROM met drivers en programma’s
Inleiding
Met behulp van deze Alecto Dataplug kan snel en eenvoudig een
uitgebreid netwerk worden gecreëerd via het lichtnet. De Alecto
Dataplug is eenvoudig te installeren en is compatibel met Windows
98SE, ME, 2000 en XP. Het netwerk dat met behulp van de Alecto
Dataplug wordt aangelegd is te vergelijken met een een netwerk via
een HUB. De Alecto Dataplug heeft een maximale overdrachtsnelheid
van 14Mbps of 85Mbps. Deze snelheid is ruim voldoende voor
breedband internet. Met behulp van een UTP kabel kan de Alecto
Dataplug worden aangesloten op een router, PC, laptop of als
verbinding tussen twee PC. De Alecto Dataplug heeft, afhankelijk van
de omstandigheden, een bereik van 200 meter via het lichtnet.
Een netwerk met de Alecto Dataplug is beveiligd met 56 bits DES
encryptie. Deze encryptie is altijd werkzaam en kan niet worden
uitgezet. Dit betekent dat gegevens eerst gecodeerd worden alvorens
ze verzonden worden. Op deze wijze wordt het nagenoeg onmogelijk
om in te breken op het netwerk.
