Een uniek netwerkwachtwoord instellen
voor uw netwerk (sterk aanbevolen)
Het Netgear Powerline Encryption-hulpprogramma opent een dialoogvenster met vijf (5) vensters.
Om de software te activeren, dubbelklikt u op het PICTOGRAM van het Netgear
Powerline Encryption-hulpprogramma.
Het wachtwoord van uw huidige apparaat wijzigen
Het venster Security (Beveiliging) biedt u de mogelijkheid het netwerkwachtwoord aan
te passen voor de apparaten die rechtstreeks op uw computer zijn aangesloten. De
apparaatwachtwoorden voor 'externe' apparaten (d.w.z. apparaten die zijn aangesloten op het
Powerline-gedeelte van uw netwerk) worden niet gewijzigd.
Door het wachtwoord te wijzigen, voorkomt u dat buren of buitenstaanders toegang krijgen tot uw netwerk.
Opmerking: dit hulpprogramma wijzigt het wachtwoord van oudere Netgear Powerline-
producten (XE602 en XA601) die rechtstreeks op uw computer zijn aangesloten niet. Om de
wachtwoorden van deze producten te wijzigen, dient u het tabblad Advanced (Geavanceerd) te
gebruiken en ze een locatie extern aan deze computer toe te wijzen.
Ga naar het tabblad Security (Beveiliging) in het dialoogvenster van het Powerline Encryption-
hulpprogramma.
Het standaard Netgear-wachtwoord 'HomePlug' in een ander wachtwoord wijzigen:
1. Voer het nieuwe wachtwoord in en klik op Apply (Toepassen).
2. Selecteer OK als u klaar bent.
Om het wachtwoord opnieuw in het standaard wachtwoord in te stellen, klikt u op Restore
Default (Standaard herstellen).
Opmerking: het 'netwerkwachtwoord' is hoofdlettergevoelig en dient tussen zes en zestien tekens te bevatten.
Terwijl u het wachtwoord van elk apparaat verandert, kunnen bepaalde onderdelen van uw netwerk
worden uitgeschakeld tot alle apparaten een nieuw coderingswachtwoord toegewezen hebben gekregen.
10. Sluit elke Powerline-adapter aan zoals aangegeven op deze afbeelding. Selecteer OK.
11. Klik op Finish (Voltooien).
12. Sla alle bestanden op, sluit alle andere toepassingen af en klik vervolgens op Yes (Ja) om uw
computer opnieuw op te starten. Selecteer No (Nee) als u uw computer later opnieuw wilt
opstarten.
Het volgende PICTOGRAM wordt automatisch op uw
bureaublad geplaatst.
