We recommend not to eat the first crêpes because of production residues that might be still on
the baking surface. After having cleaned the baking plate and having baked a first crêpe you can
use the crêpes maker normally.
Preparing of crêpes
Caution hot surface! When operating electrical heating-appliances (such as hot plates,
hot pans or hot fat) please keep in mind that high temperatures are achieved which may
cause serious injuries.
Caution! Danger of burning! The appliance gets hot during operation. Never touch hot
plates, lid or housing!
There are many types of recipes for crêpes.
Preheat the appliance. As the required baking time and baking temperature might be different
depending on the kind and consistency of the dough you use. Time and temperature must be
found out by your own experience.
1. Prepare your desired crepe dough (use common crepe recipes) and pour into a bowl.
2. Grease the plate with a little oil, butter or margarine.
3. Plug in and switch on (position I).
The red control light indicates that the appliance is connected to the mains and heating up.
The green control light indicates that the baking temperature has been reached. Once the
green light shines, you can apply the dough to the crepe plates.
4. Put the dough spatula near the appliance. Now put approx. ½ a soup ladle of dough slowly
onto the middle of the baking plate. Apply the dough with the dough spatula evenly and thin
onto the whole baking plate.
5. As soon as the crepe has a lacy brown effect on the underside and the top becomes moist
with a smooth and glossy appearance, now you can remove the crepe.
6. Put the crepe on a plate. You can use a wooden spatula or a heat resistant plastic spatula to
remove the crepe. If crepe begins to stick to the cooking surface of the unit, wipe clean with
paper towelling and lightly coat with cooking oil, butter or margarine.
7. Enjoy the crepe fresh and hot. Or keep it warm on the side while baking further crepes. Do
not leave crepes on the baking surface for a longer time otherwise the crepes could burn.
Caution! After each use for safety reason switch off (position 0) and unplug the appliance!
Preparing crêpes does not succeed
If you do not get fine and delicious crêpes the consistency of the dough might be wrong. If you
have used too much fat (butter or oil), the dough is too heavy and does not stick at the baking
surface correctly.
The crepe should be baked very shortly. Then remove immediately from the baking plate so that
it can not get too dark or too dry. Keep warm while preparing more crepe.
Anyway using less fat the best you can do for health.
1. use less butter and cream as described in your recipe
2. use more milk or water instead to achieve a good consistency
3. use small eggs which have more egg yolk (egg white contains a higher percentage of fat)
