Lift the food pusher handle.

Always use the food pusher when slicing food as the blade is extremely sharp.
Do not use your food slicer for more than 10 minutes at a time. The appliance is fitted with a thermal failsafe which
will automatically cut the motor out if the slicer is overloaded or if it has been running for too long. If this happens,
switch the appliance off and leave the motor to cool for at least 30 minutes before using the slicer again.
