Repairs must always be carried out by a recognised
professional workshop to avoid the risk of accidents.
10. Before cleaning or servicing the battery or battery
charger, always remove the charger's plug from the
mains.
11. Never charge the battery if the ambient temperature
is below 10° C or above 40° C.
12. The ventilation holes of the charger should always be
free.
13. The battery may not be short-circuited.
If short-circuiting occurs, power with a high
electrical current will flow. This can lead to the
battery overheating, catching fire or exploding,
which can result in damage to the battery or the
user having an accident.
Therefore:
1. Do not connect cables to the poles of the battery.
2. Ensure that there are no metal objects (nails,
paperclips, coins, etc.) in the battery holder.
3. Do not leave the battery in water or rain.
4. Damaged battery chargers or batteries which can no
longer be charged should be disposed of as special waste.
Do not dispose of them together with domestic waste.
5. Never throw the battery into water or a fire, it may
explode.
3. ASSEMBLY
TIGHTENING AND LOOSENING THE
BATTERY
Fig. 3
Check that the outside of the battery or the
machine is clean and dry before connecting the
charger.
Place the battery in the foot of the machine as
indicated in the diagram. Press it into place until it
clicks into place.
Press the locking buttons on both sides before
loosening the battery and then pull the battery out of
the foot of the machine.
Guide wheels
Fig. 2
The guide wheels ensure you comfortable operation
when cutting grass with shear blades.
Insert wheel A (with bolt) from either side of the
housing
Insert the other wheel B, from the opposite side and
turn A clockwise to engage the nut in B.
When using as a hedge trimmer, dismount the
wheels by reversing the above procedure and fit the
handle and hand guard instead.
Telescopic handle - assembling
Fig. 3
The telescopic handle extends the reach of the tool for
cutting hedge tops.
Remove the battery from the rear of the shear
motor housing and fit the cover plate instead.
Align the lower end of the telescopic handle with the
hole in the rear of the shear motor housing, noting
that the slot in the housing must fit over the rib on the
handle. Push the handle until it 'clicks' into place.
Fit the battery into the top of the telescopic handle.
Telescopic handle - adjusting
Fig. 4
The telescopic handle can be extended approximately
275 mm from its closed position and the lower end can
be swiveled through 180º to attain the correct working
angle for the toolhead.
To extend the handle, slacken the nut C and pull out
the tube as desired. Lock in place by screwing in the
nut C.
To alter the angle of the toolhead, slacken the nut D
several turns, move the head as desired and re-clamp
nut D.
To remove the telescopic handle, press the black
locking button near the flange of the shear motor
housing.
Changing cutting blades
Fig. 5
Unplug the battery before changing or fitting of
blades. Risk of injury! Wear safety gloves!
Unscrew blade holder E (turn anticlockwise).
Remove the shear assembly from the shear motor
housing.
Cleaning away any grass or dirt, fit the new shear
assembly onto the motor housing. It may be
necessary to rotate the drive coupling slightly to
permit full engagement of the new assembly.
Refit the blade holder E and turn it firmly clockwise
to lock the assembly into place.
Hand guard and additional handle
Fig. 6
These must be fitted when the unit is used without
the telescopic handle!
Press the transparent hand guard (F) onto the front
of the shear motor housing, taking care that the hole
in the guard for the screw (G) will align with the hole
in the motor housing. Fit the screw.
Slide the guide handle (H) over the handle of the
shear motor housing and fit it in place with the screw
supplied. Note that the ribs in on the handle bushes
must engage in the slots of the housing. Tighten the
screw to fix in place.
Fitting the lawn trimmer
Fix the guard to the trimmer motor housing using the
2 screws and washers provided, taking care to align
the peg on the guard with the slot in the housing.
