2.1 Funktionen und Merkmale
Sie besitzen Geräte mit parallelem Anschluss (z. B. Drucker), die sich jedoch nicht an
Ihren Computer anschließen lassen, da bei Computern neueren Datums meist der
Parallelport fehlt. In diesem Fall ist unser USB-zu-Parallel-Konverter genau das
Richtige für Sie! Über den USB-zu-Parallel-Konverter können Sie ein Gerät mit
paralleler Schnittstelle an den USB-Port anschließen; dies funktioniert sogar mit
bidirektional arbeitenden Geräten.
2.2 Lieferumfang
Die folgenden Artikel sollten im Lieferumfang enthalten sein:
• EM1018, USB-zu-Parallel-Konverter
• Bedienungsanleitung
2.3 Bevor Sie loslegen
1. Dieses Produkt können Sie unter Windows 98 SE/ME/2000/XP/Vista verwenden.
2. Ihr Computer oder Notebook muss natürlich mit einem freien USB-Port
ausgestattet sein.
3. Sie können Drucker mit 36-poliger Centronics-Schnittstelle an den Konverter
anschließen. (Diese Schnittstelle finden Sie an den meisten älteren Druckern.)
3.0 Hardware installieren
1. Sorgen Sie dafür, dass Ihr Drucker betriebsbereit ist. Anschließend achten Sie
darauf, dass sämtliche beteiligten Geräte ausgeschaltet werden, bevor Sie mit
der Installation beginnen.
2. Schließen Sie den USB-zu-Parallel-Konverter an einen freien USB-Port Ihres
Notebooks oder Desktop-PCs an.
3. Verbinden Sie das Gerät mit der Centronics-Schnittstelle Ihres Druckers.
4. Schalten Sie sämtliche Geräte ein, warten Sie ab, bis der Computer vollständig
gestartet ist.
5. Windows erkennt die neue Hardware automatisch. Anschließend sucht Windows
nach den benötigten Treibern und installiert diese. Unter Windows 2000 und
aktuelleren Windows-Versionen wird dazu ein „USB Printing Support“ installiert.
Nun erstellt Windows einen virtuellen Druckerport. Bitte beachten Sie, dass es
sich dabei nicht um einen normalen (physischen) Druckerport wie LPT1 oder
LPT2 handelt.
6. Ihr Drucker wird erkannt und automatisch installiert.
7. Nach der Installation starten Sie Ihren Computer bitte neu.
8. Nachdem dieser Schritt komplett abgeschlossen ist, klicken Sie auf „Start“ und
anschließend auf „Einstellungen“. Nun wählen Sie „Drucker“.
9. Klicken Sie mit der rechten Maustaste den Drucker, wählen Sie „Eigenschaften“.
