4. Using the scanner
4.1 Installing the batteries
1. Open the battery door.
2. Insert 2 x AA alkaline batteries into the battery compartment.
3. Keep the button pressed for 2 seconds to turn on the scanner.
4.2 Inserting a microSD memory card (not included)
You must insert a microSD card (not supplied) to record and store your scan.
1. Turn off the scanner.
2. Insert the microSD card into the microSD card slot. Gently press in until card is latched.
Note:
Do not force the card into the slot; forcing may damage the scanner and the microSD memory
card. Align microSD card position (as marked) and try again.
Note:
The microSD memory card must be formatted before scanning (see following section).
4.3 Setting the date and time
1. Press the button for the time setting to enter the setting mode.
2. The LCD window shows 1 XX. Select the corresponding value by pressing the C/WB &
DPI buttons.
3. Press the button to confirm the setting.
4. The LCD window shows the parameters in the following sequence:
1 XX: Year
2 XX: Month
3 XX: Day
4 XX: Hour
5 XX: Minute
5. After all the information has been set, press the time setting button again to exit.
4.4 Formatting the microSD memory card
1. Insert a new microSD card into the scanner, then turn on the scanner.
2. Press the formatting button. F shows on the LCD.
3. Press the button to start the formatting process.
4. microSD card indicator will blink until formatting is complete.
4.5 Setting the resolution
Press the DPI button to select a high or low resolution.
The High/Low resolution icon will be displayed on the status LCD.
4.6 Setting the scan mode
Press the C/BW button to select Color/Mono mode.
The Color/Mono icon will be displayed on the status LCD.
4.7 How to scan
Hold the document firmly by one hand.
Place the scanner on the start of the scanning position.
Hold the scanner tight and press the button once.
Slide the scanner slowly and keep your hand stable to get the best quality picture.
Press the button again to stop scanning.
