Inden du bruger kørestolen skal det sikres at hofteselen bæres.
Hofteselen skal kontrolleres dagligt
for at sikre at der ikke findes forhindringer eller slitage.
Sørg altid for, at hofteselen er forsvarligt fastspændt og justeret korrekt inden
brug. Hvis selen er for løs kan den få brugeren til at glide ned og risikere
kvælning eller forårsage alvorlige personskader.
Hofteselen monteres på kørestolen som vist på billedet. Selen består af to
dele. Hver del monteres ved hjælp af den låsebolt til at holde sædet på plads,
der allerede findes i hver side af sædet. Bolten føres gennem selens øsken.
Derefter føres selen ned under sidestykkets bagerste del, (1). (Fig. 6.1)
Sørg for at justere selens placering, så spændet ligger midt på sædet (Fig.
6.2).

6.0 Forreste lateral støtte (Hoftesele)
Hofteselen justeres efter brugerens behov på følgende måde:
Sådan gøres selen kortere
Sådan gøres selen længere
Den løse del af selen føres
tilbage igen gennem spændets
han-del og skydespænderne.
Pas på, at selen ikke slår buler
ved spændets han-del.
Den løse del af selen føres gennem
skydespænderne og spændets han-del,
så selen bliver længere.
Når den er spændt, skal afstanden mellem hofteselen og brugeren
kontrolleres. Når hofteselen er justeret korrekt, skal det være muligt at
indsætte mere end den flade hånd mellem hofteselen og brugeren. (Fig. 6.3).
