In de instellingen pagina kunt u de volgende zaken configureren:
- U kunt de maximale download/upload ratio instellen om uw internetverbinding te ontlasten.
- U kunt tijden instellen wanneer het apparaat wel en niet mag downloaden. Hiermee ontlast
u tevens uw internetverbinding en heeft u geen last van vertragingen tijdens de uren dat u
het internet gebruikt voor andere zaken.
- U kunt de seeding hours instellen. Dit betekent dat slechts op gezette tijden u de andere
gebruikers voorziet van uw data.
- U kunt instellen of gebruikte torrent automatisch worden verwijderd.
- U kunt een maximum stellen aan het total aantal downloads tegelijkertijd om zo uw
internetverbinding te ontlasten.
8. Upgraden van de firmware
Het geïnstalleerde besturingssysteem op het apparaat heet firmware. Het verschil tussen
software en firmware betekent ruwweg dat software een besturingssysteem nodig heeft om te
kunnen functioneren. Firmware daarentegen functioneert zelfstandig. Firmware vindt u op uw
mobiele telefoon, de dvd-speler en bijvoorbeeld de autoradio. De scheidingslijn tussen term
firmware en een besturingssysteem is dun.
Firmware upgrades kunnen verbeteringen in stabiliteit inhouden, maar ook uitbreidingen in
mogelijkheden of in de ondersteuning van bestandsextensies. Vaak zijn de mogelijkheden van
het apparaat nog niet vol benut bij de introductie en blijven verbeteringen komen. U wordt dus
altijd sterk aangeraden het apparaat te voorzien van de nieuwste firmware.
Kijkt u bij de systeeminstellingen onder hoofdstuk 3.4 Wijzigen systeemconfiguratie” hoe u
de firmware kunt upgraden vanaf de harde schijf, het internet of een externe bron als een
USB-stick.
