Cleaning
Hazard!
Remove the mains plug of the device before moving and cleaning and allow the device to cool down!
The basic unit and its individual parts cannot be cleaned in a dishwasher.
Note:
Do not use solvents or abrasive detergents to clean the coffee machine.
Cleaning the coffee strainers
1. Empty the strainer.
2. Remove the strainer from the holder and wash in clear water.
Note: Clean the coffee strainers regularly and check whether the little holes in the strainer are
blocked, you can unblock them with a needle if necessary.
Cleaning the drip tray
The cleaning tray has a float (red) to show the water level.
Empty and clean the drip tray before the float rises above the cup tray, otherwise the water could
overflow and damage the espresso machine, the work surface or the surrounding area.
1. Remove the cover of the drip tray.
2. Clean the removable parts with warm soapy water, rinse well and allow to dry.
3. Replace the cover of the drip tray.
Cleaning the strainer holder
After 200 uses, clean the strainer holder (E) -> by outputting around 0.5 l water without making
coffee.
To do this, follow steps 1-9 in the chapter on getting started.
Cleaning the milk frother
1. Hold a cup under the milk frother so that the bottom half of the frother is in the cup.
2. Allow hot water to pour through for around 5 seconds in order to remove any milk residues inside
the frother.
3. Switch the device off by pressing the On/Off button.
4. Pull the tube of the milk frother downwards.
5. Carefully clean the milk frother (H) with lukewarm water.
6. Refit the milk frother (H) onto the steam nozzle.
Cleaning the water tank
Regularly clean the water tank with a soft cloth and a little mild detergent.
Descaling programme
Note:
The machine can be descaled at any time, even if the descaling light is not on. However, the coffee
machine must be descaled when the light comes on, i.e. the 1-cup button ->
flashes alternately in
blue and white.
We recommend using a branded descaler suitable for products with plastic casings.
Caution!
Follow the safety instructions. the notes on what to do if it comes into contact with the eyes and skin,
and the instructions on the packaging of the descaler.
Proceed as follows to start the descaler programme:
1. The device is switched on and the 1-cup button ->
is flashing as described above.
2. Insert the strainer holder without a strainer.
3. Fill the water tank with the descaling solution made by diluting the descaler with water in
accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
4. Fill the water tank with tap water to the “MAX” marker.
5. Press the 1 and 2-cup buttons
at the same time for 3 seconds. The 1-cup button then lights
blue and the descaling programme starts.
6. The device is rinsed with water for approx. 10 seconds. There is then a 2 minute pause.
The process is then repeated.
Note: Note that the descaling process takes longer than the normal brewing process and may last
quite a while. Wait until all the water has passed through. Once the programme has started, it cannot
be stopped until it has finished.
The descaling programme automatically carries out a series of cleaning processes and pauses to
remove limescale deposits in the coffee machine until the tank is completely empty.
7. Once the descaling programme is complete, the machine automatically switches to standby mode.
8. WARNING: Remove the remaining water and descaler mixture from the water tank.
9. Allow 3-4 cups of water to run through before making another espresso.
