Wennen aan uw hoortoestellen

Omdat veel van de geluiden die u nu mogelijk weer

hoort zonder de hoortoestellen niet of minder hoor-

baar kunnen zijn geweest, raden we aan om de volgen-

de stappen te doorlopen, eerst in een rustige omge-

ving, daarna in een omgeving met meer rumoer.

Stap 1: Luister naar iemand die tegen u spreekt terwijl u

uw ogen dicht houdt en waarbij de hoortoestellen zijn

uitgeschakeld. Schakel daarna de hoortoestellen in en

blijf luisteren. Merkt u verschil? Het doel is hierbij niet

om elk woord te verstaan, maar om het verschil van on-

versterkte en versterkte spraak van een bekende spre-

ker te herkennen.

Stap 2: Blijf luisteren met ingeschakelde hoortoestellen

en uw ogen dicht. Doe vervolgens uw ogen open. Het

doel is u te laten ervaren dat de informatie van het zien

een goede aanvulling is op het horen.

Stap 3: Neem een krant of een boek. Vraag iemand om

hieruit voor te lezen terwijl u mee leest. Lees ook zelf

een stuk en luister naar uw eigen stem. Bij TV-kijken

kan het helpen de ondertiteling te lezen.
