bediende ergens achter te laten of weer op te pikken, mag een
speler de bijbehorende actie uitvoeren. Zo verwerft hij nieuwe
capaciteiten om handel te drijven, of verzamelt hij goederen en
geld die hij elders weer ruilt voor glinsterende robijnen. De eerste
speler die vijf dergelijke robijnen bezit, wint het spel.
Om dat zo snel en voordelig mogelijk te bereiken, probeert elke
speler in te schatten welke keuzes de anderen maken en de
eigen plannen daarop af te stemmen. Wie stopt op een plaats
waar een andere handelaar aanwezig is, moet daarvoor immers
geld neertellen. Op enkele plaatsen gaat de prijs van de goederen
de hoogte in als anderen je voor waren. Bovendien zijn robijnen
een zeldzaam goedje.
‘Istanbul’ biedt aan 2 tot 5 spelers een uitdagende tactische
opdracht. Met het telkens anders opgebouwde spelveld, verloopt
ieder spel bovendien verschillend. Dit spel is dan ook de terech-
te drager van het label ‘Gouden Ludo 2014’, de spellenprijs die
door de kwb-gelinkte Forumclubs in het leven is geroepen. Het is
immers - grasch én speltechnisch - een pareltje.
