Indien de bediener zich niet strikt aan de veiligheidsvoorschriften houdt en geen voorzorgsmaatregelen neemt kunnen
lasproducten en -processen ernstig letsel of de dood veroorzaken of andere apparatuur of zaken beschadigen .
Aan de hand van ervaringen uit het verleden met het lassen en snijden zijn veilige werkmethoden ontwikkeld.
Deze methoden moeten door studie en training worden geleerd vóór het gebruik van deze apparatuur. Sommige van deze
methoden hebben betrekking op apparatuur die is aangesloten op voedingsleidingen; andere zijn van toepassing op door
motoren aangedreven apparatuur. Personen zonder uitgebreide opleiding in las- en snij methoden moeten niet proberen te
lassen.
De veilige werkmethoden staan uiteengezet in de Europese standaard EN 60974-1,
getiteld: Gezondheid en veiligheid bij het lassen en verwante processen – Deel 2: Elektrisch.
ALLE INSTALLATIE-, BEDIENINGS-, ONDERHOUDS- EN REPARATIEWERKZAAMHEDEN
MOGEN ALLEEN DOOR GEKWALIFICEERDE PERSONEN WORDEN UITGEVOERD.
