Vehicle features
Seat position adjustment:
Pull handle, slide seat, release handle
and allow seat to audibly latch into
position.
Backrest adjustment:
Turn handwheel to adjust backrest to
a suitable position. Do not lean on
backrest whilst adjusting it.
Adjust seat height:
Pull lever at side and remove weight
from seat to raise it or press down on
seat with body weight to lower it.
Folding down front passenger’s
seat backrest 3
:
Push passenger seat head restraint
down or remove.
Fold front passenger seat forward by
raising release lever.
Adjusting head restraint height 3:
Tilt forwards to release, hold firmly and
adjust height, then release.
Important:
Do not sit nearer than
10 inches (25 cm) from steering wheel
to permit safe airbag deployment.
Adjusting steering wheel position 3:
Swivel lever down, adjust height, swivel
lever up, engage into position.
Adjust steering wheel only when vehicle
is stationary and steering column lock is
released.
Fitting the seat belt:
Draw smoothly from inertia reel, guide
over shoulder and engage in buckle.
The belt must not be twisted at any
point. The lap belt must fit snugly
across the body. The seat backrest
must not be tilted too far back
(recommended maximum tilting angle
approx. 25 degrees).
To release belt, press red button on
belt buckle.
Electrically operated door windows 3:
Two rocker switches in the driver’s door
handle for the driver and front
passenger’s side door windows.
Additional switch in the front
passenger’s door handle.
To operate window in stages, tap
appropriate switch. For automatic
opening or closing, keep switch pressed
slightly longer. To stop window
movement, tap switch again.
Electrically adjustable
exterior mirrors 3:
Four-way switch in driver’s door handle.
Toggle switch to left or right: four-way
switch moves appropriate mirror.
Vehicle features
Switching on dipped or main beam:
Main beam = Push stalk forwards
Dipped beam = Push forwards again.
Headlight flash:
Pull stalk towards steering wheel.
Operating turn signal lights:
Stalk in rest position
Right turn = Upwards
Left turn = Downwards
When the steering wheel is turned back,
the stalk automatically returns to its
original position.
This will not happen when making a
minor steering manoeuvre such as
changing lanes.
When lane changing, move stalk to
resistance point.
When released, stalk will spring back.
Hazard warning lights:
On = Press ¨
Off = Press ¨ again
To aid location of the pushbutton, the
red surface is illuminated when the
ignition is switched on. When the button
is pressed, its control indicator flashes in
time with the hazard warning lights.
Windscreen wiper:
Move stalk up
§ = Off
$ = Adjustable timed interval wipe
% = Slow
& = Fast
Setting wiper interval to a value between
2 and 15 seconds:
z Set stalk to timed interval wipe $
z Set stalk to §
z Wait for desired interval
z Set stalk to timed interval wipe $
The interval remains stored until next
change or until ignition is switched off.
Switching ignition off and moving stalk
to $ sets interval to 7 seconds.
Operating windscreen wash system:
Pull stalk towards steering wheel.
Wash fluid is sprayed onto the
windscreen; at the same time the
wiper is operated for several cycles.
Rear window wiper and wash system 3
:
Wiper on = Push stalk forwards
Wiper off = Pull stalk towards
steering wheel
Wash = Push stalk forwards
and hold
The rear window wiper operates in
timed interval mode.
The wiper will swipe for a few strokes
when washing.
Engine oil:
Check every 600 miles and prior to long
journeys.
Important:
It is the owner’s responsibility
to maintain the correct level of an
appropriate quality oil in the engine.
Refuelling:
Use unleaded fuel for petrol engines.
Fuel tank capacity = 52 litres.
Warning:
In freezing conditions, wiper blades can
freeze to windscreen. Release blades
from the ice before operating
windscreen wiper to prevent wiper motor
damage.
