Power Station KH 3108

6. Jump Start for Motor Vehicles
The power station can provide a jump start in case of
problems starting the engine caused by too low battery
capacity.
The jumper cable with the pole clamps can be found on
the side of the unit.
Do not remove the jumper cable from the power station
if you are not using it.
Caution! If the pole clamps touch each other there is
risk of short-circuit.
We wish to point out that even standard vehicle models are
equipped with numerous electronic devices (ABS, ASR,
on-board computer, etc.). The high starting voltage and
voltage peaks may cause damage to these electronic
components. We cannot assume any liability for consequential
damage caused by the jump starts function. Please read
the information in the operating manuals of your car, radio,
car phone, etc.
ƽ Important!
The power station has to be charged to full capacity in
order to draw a current of 600 A for 5 seconds.
To use the power station for a jump start:
1.Connect the red cable (+) of the power station with the
POSITIVE pole (+) of the vehicle battery.
2.Connect the black cable (-) of the power station with
the body of the vehicle, for example to the grounding
strip or any other bare point on the engine block.
Clamp this cable as far as possible from the battery in
order to prevent ignition of any explosive gas that may
develop.
3.The switch (Figure 1 / Item 1) must be in the “ON”
position when performing a jump start.
4.Turn the ignition key over to start position and wait
approx. 2 minutes. DO NOT START THE ENGINE!
5.After two minutes you may attempt to start the engine
with the power station connected. Be sure not to
attempt to start the vehicle for longer than 5 seconds
due to the very high current involved.
6.After the successful start, first disconnect the pole
clamp on the grounding strip (negative pole).
7.Then disconnect the jumper cable from the POSITIVE
pole (+) of the car battery.
8.The power station will need to be recharged after this
giving this jump start.
5. Current Output
Output 12V from cigarette lighter socket, max. 10 ampere:
The 12V output (Fig. 1 / Item 8) can be loaded with max.
10 A, i.e. you have max. 10A at your disposal.
Check the power and power consumption values of the
consumer to ensure that you do not overload the power
station. If only the power data of the consumer is
known, it is very simple to calculate the maximum
current.
Calculation Example:
Consumer: 12V / 50W
The current consumption equals: 50W ÷ 12V = 4.17A
•Use the supplied connecting cable to link the 12V output
socket with a suitable consumer.
•To use the 12V output, remove the protective cap and
connect the consumer.
Operating Hours of Typical Consumers
The appliances listed below are typical 12V consumers.
Their actual length of operation depends on the device’s
actual power consumption and the battery charge level.
Consumer Amperage Provisional
uninterrupted
operation
Halogen lamp
(HL 12-55.
Art. No. 10.955.00) 4.5 A 4 h
Car vacuum cleaner 7 A 2.5 h
TV with
satellite receiver 4 A 4.5 h
Cooler 4 A 4.5 h
12 V immersion pump 4.5 A 4h
Check that all the voltage and current ratings of the
consumer units will not overload the power station.
Overloading the power station may destroy the device.

3. Important Instructions for Your Safety
•Inspect the device for damage before each use.
If damage is found:
•Have a defective device repaired by our customer
service before operating it again! Otherwise, it is
possible that the power station could no longer be
sufficiently safe!
-Do not try to repair a defective device yourself – if you
yourself are not a specialist. There is mortal danger due
to electric shock or fire hazard.
-When using the power supply unit, connect the power
station only to a 230V (~50Hz) electrical socket.
Children cannot evaluate the dangers that can arise
through the use of electrical equipment. Therefore,
keep the car battery and power station out of the reach
of children.
•Protect the power station from rain, splashes, and
dampness in order to avoid mortal danger of electric
shock.
•Never place the device on or near a heat source in order
to avoid damage.
Never charge more than one battery at a time, and
never try to charge non-rechargeable batteries, as these
could explode.
•Observe the instructions of the vehicle battery
manufacturer and the instructions of the vehicle
manufacturer regarding battery charging.
Compressor
- Never use the compressor to clean your clothing with
pressurised air, in order to avoid soiling the clothes with oil.
-Never direct the pressurised air at people or animals, as
there is a danger of injury, especially around the eyes.
-Keep the ventilation slits clean and free of dirt; the
device can overheat if the ventilation slits are clogged.
- Do not use the compressor to inflate high-pressure tyres
such as those on lorries, tractors, or trailers.
- Never exceed the unit’s maximum operation time of 10
minutes in order to avoid overheating the device. If you
would like to inflate several tyres, allow the compressor
ten minutes to cool between each inflation.
4. Before the First Use
The power station is equipped with a maintenance-free
storage battery, which is only partially charged when
delivered. Charge the storage battery completely before
using for the first time. Use only the accessories delivered
with the battery for charging purposes.
You can charge the power station with the power supply
unit or the automobile adaptor cable.
To do this, set the on/off switch (Fig. 1/ Item 1) in the
“OFF” position and proceed as follows:
Charging the Power Station with the Power Supply Unit
1.Insert the connection cable of the accompanying power
supply unit in the device’s loading jack “RECHARGE”
(Fig. 1 / Item 2).
2.Plug the power supply unit into a socket with
230V ~ 50Hz. The red LED display (Fig. 1 / Item 3) will
light up.
3.It takes approx. 30 hours to fully charge the battery.
Pressing the red test button (Fig. 1 / Item 4) will display
the charging condition of the installed battery on the
integrated volt metre (Fig. 1 / Item 5).
Charging the Power Station with the
Vehicle Adaptor Cable
The power station can be charged with the accompanying
vehicle adaptor cable by means of a vehicle cigarette ligh-
ter.
ƽ IMPORTANT:
The power station battery has approx. a 12 V charge
capacity. Only charge the power station while driving,
as otherwise the unit will run down the vehicle’s battery.
Never start the vehicle as long as the automobile
adaptor cable is connected to the cigarette lighter
socket; this is a fire hazard.
Insert the 12V plug of the accompanying automobile
adaptor cable into the automobile’s cigarette lighter and
the other end of the cable into the charging jack of the
power station marked “Recharge.“
