• Note: the soleplate may become damaged if the iron is stored with the soleplate facing
downwards.
• Some parts of the iron have been slightly greased and as a result the iron may smoke slightly
when switched on for the first time. After a short while, however, this will cease.
• Before using the first time remove any sticker or protective foil from the soleplate. Clean the
soleplate with a soft cloth.
• Before using the first time it is important to purge the inside of the iron by allowing it to steam
freely for a minute.
• Do not put vinegar or other descaling agents into the water reservoir.
• Do not use chemically descaled water.
• The plug and cord should not be allowed to touch the hot soleplate. Do not try to repair the iron,
plug or power cord on your own.
• Do not operate the iron unobserved.

Filling with water (for steam-ironing and spraying)
Fill with normal tap water for first use. Subsequently, you can also use tap-water. However, if the water
is very hard (hardness higher than 17°dH), it is ad visable to use distilled water.
Remove the mains plug from the wall socket before filling the iron. Set the variable steam control to
position “0” (=no steam). Stand the iron upright and use the measuring beaker provided for pouring
water into filling aperture
Setting the temperature
0 Synthetics/Silk
00 Wool
00 Cotton/Linen
Stand the iron upright. Set the temperature control (A) to correct ironing temperature. Insert the mains
plug into the mains supply. After the indicator light (H) has gone out and come on again you may start
ironing. The indicator light will go out from time to time during ironing. You should start at the lower
temperature and afterwards to a higher. If reverse, do not begin again before the pilot light switches on
and off again.
Dry ironing
Push the variable steam control to position of “0” (=no steam).
Steam ironing
Set the temperature control (d) to position 000 for moderate steam and maximum steam. With
conventional steam ironing, water may leak from the sole plate if a too low temperature has been
select. Ensure that there is enough water in water reservoir.
Stand the iron on its heel. Insert the mains plug into wall socket. Set the variable steam control to
adjust the steam, slide upward to increase steam output and slide downward to reduce steam output
