NB: na een verplaatsing over een lange af-
stand zonder rijden (ferry, autoslaaptrein),
kan het systeem een paar minuten nodig
hebben om de normale werking terug te
vinden.
De digitale kaart
De digitale kaart bevat wegenkaarten en
stadsplattegronden die nodig zijn voor het
systeem. Dit staat op de SD-kaart.
De LIVE Services
Ze omvatten verkeersberichten, HD
Traffic™, lokaal zoeken met TomTom
Places™ en weerberichten. Na afloop van de
proeftijd van 3 maanden kunt u het abonne-
ment online verlengen via TomTom HOME™
(raadpleeg het hoofdstuk “Systeem bijwer-
ken”).
N.B.: voor deze services is een abonnement
nodig en wordt gebruik gemaakt van een in
het navigatiesysteem geïntegreerde SIM-
lock kaart.
Het navigatiesysteem
Het navigatiesysteem bepaalt uw positie en
begeleidt u dankzij de informatie:
– snelheid van de auto en van de gyro-
scoop (meting van de richting van de
auto);
– van de digitale kaart;
– GPS-ontvanger;
– abonnement op Live Services.
N.B: Als de auto de eerste keer wordt ge-
bruikt, zijn de informatie van de snelheid en
de gyroscoop in de laatste kalibratiefase.
Het is daarom normaal dat de plaatsbepa-
ling door het systeem niet erg nauwkeurig is
tijdens de eerste vijftig kilometer en veertig
scherpe bochten.
De GPS-ontvanger
Het navigatiesysteem gebruikt GPS-satellie-
ten (Global Positioning System) die rond de
Aarde draaien.
De GPS-ontvanger ontvangt signalen die
door verschillende satellieten uitgezonden
worden. Het systeem kan dan de plaats van
de auto bepalen.
Indien deze services beschikbaar zijn in uw
land, verschijnt het pictogram LIVE Services
op het navigatiescherm.
Functie navigatiesysteem
Het systeem stelt u een route voor naar de
bestemming van uw keuze dankzij:
– de wegenkaart (op de SD-kaart);
– de gyroscoop en de sensoren die uw po-
sitie simuleren als de GPS-signalen zijn
uitgevallen;
– de informatie van de verkeersinformatie
(naargelang het land);
– verkeersveiligheid (waarschuwing te
hoge snelheid, snelheidscontrole);
– HD Traffic™, bij abonnement op LIVE
Services.
Tenslotte geeft hij de te volgen route, stap
voor stap, dankzij het beeldscherm en de
gesproken berichten.
