This Universal Remote Control is compatible with most models of infrared-controlled TV sets
manufactured after 1993 and supporting the functions Pr+ and Pr-.
It was factory-programmed to control the TV sets manufactured by the THOMSON group.
Please keep this guide along with the code list (provided separately), so that you can
subsequently programme your remote control for use with other sets.
When you have loaded the batteries, please switch on your TV set manually and then try to
switch it off with the remote control. Should the TV set not respond, you'll have to enter one
of the codes contained in the list supplied separately (the most often used codes are to be
found at the top of the list). To do so, proceed as per the following procedure.

Direct code input
To directly input the code read from the list:
1. Switch your TV set on.
2. On page 1 of the separate code list enclosed, find the codes matching the make of the TV set which you want
to control.
3. Hold down keys mute (4) and

the list, the red indicator lamp flashes rapidly during 3 seconds and then goes off.

3. Direct the remote control towards the TV set and try to switch it off by simply pressing the key

(2). Should the
set not switch off, press

(2) as many times as required (up to 200 times), until the set switches off. Between two
subsequent key depressions, give the red indicator lamp (1) enough time to extinguish and light up again (about
1 second). Proceeding this way will enable you to see whether the set responds or not.
4. Immediately after the TV set switches over to standby, press key mute to store the programming. The red indicator
lamp (1) goes off.
Retrieval of the code stor
ed in your remote control
To retrieve the code stored in your remote control:
1. Hold down keys mute (4) and

(2) until the red indicator lamp (1) remains lit.
2. Press key volume-.
3. To visualise the first code digit, press program.

and count the flash pulses of the red indicator lamp (1).
The digit “0” does not generate any flash pulse.
4. For the second code digit, press key program.

5. For the third code digit, press key volume+ and count the flash pulses of the red indicator lamp (1). The indicator
lamp extinguishes after the last flash.
NOTE: The default code 165 stored in the remote control works with most of the TV sets of the THOMSON make and
with some models of the makes Saba, Brandt, Ferguson, Nordmende and Telefunken.

When you have retrieved the code of your set,
jot it down so that you can use it whenever needed.
Description of the key functions
The red indicator lamp lights up when you press any key.
