TIME
Food Preparation
This appliance is not suitable for chopping hard items such as ice
cubes or frozen produce.
Remove bones from meat, stones from fruit, etc. Cut the food
into small pieces (25mm, 1" for hard foods and meat.)
The maximum quantity of food you can process at any one
time should not exceed 700g for soft items and 600g for nuts
and other items.
Keep the liquid content of food to be processed to a
minimum as excess liquid can penetrate the motor.
Items for processing can be placed in the bowl before
attaching the lid or introduced via the funnel after assembly.
Items for slicing should be cut into pieces which can fit easily
into the feed tube.
Operation
Assemble the appliance.
Switch the selector to ‘0' (off).
Plug the unit into the mains supply.
Switch on at the mains.
The appliance has two speeds, 1( ), -
low 2 ( ) - high and pulse mode (P).
Chopping and Blending
1. The metal blade can be used for chopping meat, fish
vegetables cheese etc. setting the speed to maximum.
2. For finer chopping increase the length of time you process.
3. For coarse chopping, move the selector to ‘P for a few
seconds and monitor the texture.
For pulse operation, move the selector to ‘P’ and hold it. This
processes food at very high speed so only use pulse mode in
very short repeated bursts.
Use the plastic blade to puree cooked root vegetables, make
mashed potato, mix bread dough, etc.
Refer to the table on the next page for advice on which speed
to use for best results.
It may be necessary with some foods to stop the unit, and re-
distribute the food before continuing. Switch the selector to
‘0' and unplug the appliance before removing the lid.
Slicing and Grating
Feed the food steadily into the appliance. DO NOT force the
food: allow the blade to do the work. Too much force will
overload the unit and may stall the motor.
If you are feeding in celery stalks for example, you may start
with the pusher out and then use the pusher to finish the
process. For larger slices, cut the food so that the pieces fit
horizontally into the funnel and then use the pusher to
complete the task.
Using the pusher
Press the pusher in gently but
firmly. Do not apply excessive
force especially when grating
or slicing food.
D o n ot r u n t he a p p li a n c e
continuously for more than 1.5
minutes. After extended use
allow the unit to cool for at least 3
minutes before the next use.
If your appliance suddenly stops:
Switch the selector to ‘0' (off). Check that the bowl and lid are
securely attached. If not, resecure the bowl/lid and
recommence operations.
If the appliance still will not start: Unplug the unit and wait
for15 minutes until the unit has completely cooled down.
Reconnect the power and resume using the appliance.
Never immerse the appliance base or power cord in water.
