Pan: (Von »Panorama« beziehungsweise »Panning«): der relative Pegel eines Signals im

linken und rechten Kanal eines Stereosignals, der die Ortung des Signals in der

Horizontalen (d.h., im Stereoklangbild) erlaubt.

Parameter: Eine regelbare Bestimmungsgröße.

Phantomspeisung: Spannungsversorgung für Kondensatormikrofone, wird am VoicePrism mit der

48V-Taste aktiviert.

Ping Pong: Hier: ein zwischen dem linken und rechten Kanal eines Stereosignals springender

Sound.

Pitch Analyzer: Ein Gerät beziehungsweise Algorithmus, der die ->Frequenz eines Audiosignals

erkennt.

Portamento: Stufenloses Gleiten der Tonhöhe von Ton zu Ton.

Preset: Eine gespeicherte, abrufbare Gruppe klangbestimmender ->Parameter

Regeneration: ->Feedback

Reverb: Hall

Scoop: Gesangstechnik, bei der sich der Sänger von einer tieferen Tonhöhe der korrekten

Zieltonhöhe nähert.

SysEx: »System Exclusive«: ein Format zur Übertragung Geräte- beziehungsweise

Herstellerspezifischer Daten im Rahmen des ->MIDI-Standards

Timing: Zeitliche Abstimmung; auch: rhythmisches/taktgenaues Spiel

Tonhöhe: ->Frequenz

Trocken Nicht bearbeitetes/verändertes Signal beziehungsweise Signalanteil.

TRS: Abkürzung für »Tip/Ring/Sleeve«; wird im englischen Sprachraum für 6,3 mm-

Klinkenstecker verwendet.

Verstimmen: Die Tonhöhe geringfügig ändern. Die Verstimmung wird normalerweise in ->Cent

gemessen.

Vibrato: (Periodische) Modulation der Tonhöhe

Wet: Engl. »nass«: normalerweise der mit einem ->Effekt bearbeitete Signalanteil

Zischlaut: Ein nicht stimmhafter Laut (»ssss«)


