BEFORE FIRST USE
Remove all wrapping material from the electric kettle and its base stand.
Fill the kettle with clean water up to its maximum water mark (MAX) inside the
kettle. Boil the water and empty the contents of the kettle. Repeat this process 2 to
3 times. To boil water, proceed according to the instructions in chapter Operation.
OPERATION
Attention:
The electric kettle is intended only for heating water. Never heat
any other liquids or substance in it.
Place the base stand on astable, even and clean surface. Insert the power plug into
apower socket. The kettle will beep but neither the display nor the buttons will
be lit.
Fill the kettle with the required amount of water. You may fill it through the spout
or through the opening after lifting the lid. To open the lid, press button A6. The
water level must reach at least the minimum mark (MIN) but must not exceed the
maximum mark (MAX). After filling it up, properly close the lid and place it on the
central connector of the base stand.
Attention:
Never fill the kettle when it is placed on the base stand.
Turning on and stand-by mode
Turn on the kettle by pressing button B1 (ON/OFF). The kettle will enter stand-by
mode, meaning that it is ready for operation. Button B1 (ON/OFF) will start flashing
and the current water temperature will be shown on the display.
If you do not press any button within three minutes of turning on the kettle, it will
automatically turn off, and to turn it on again it is necessary to press button B1 (ON/
OFF).
Note:
If the kettle is taken off the base stand in the stand-by mode or any other
mode, the symbol – – – – will appear on the display. If you return the kettle
to the base stand within 30 seconds of lifting it off, the set temperature or
selected mode will be retained. If you return it later than this, the kettle
will enter the stand-by mode.
Heat Water to 100°C
When button B2 (BOIL) is pressed in the stand-by mode, the display will first show
100°C, and afew moments later the current temperature of the water. The water
will then start being heated and button B1 (ON/OFF) will remain permanently lit.
Attention:
Never start the kettle empty without water. The incorrect use of
the kettle may negatively affect its working order and lifetime.
When the temperature of the water reaches 100 °C, the kettle will beep and
automatically switch to the stand-by mode and button B1 (ON/OFF) will turn off.
Note:
The operation of the kettle can be stopped at any time by pressing
button B1 (ON/OFF).
Pour the boiled water into aprepared container, cup or mug. When carrying it, hold
the kettle upright, particularly when it is filled all the way up to the maximum mark.
If you wish to fill the kettle again and start heating immediately after pouring in
the water, wait approximately 30–60 seconds. When opening the lid, be especially
careful to avoid scalding yourself with boiling water or steam.
Heating water to arequired temperature
The kettle enables water to be heated to atemperature in the range from 40°C to
90°C. Select the temperature using button B4 (TEMP SEL).
Repeatedly press button B4 (TEMP SEL) to select the required temperature. The
selected temperature value will always appear on the display first, and after afew
moments the current water temperature will be shown and heating will commence.
When the temperature is reached, the kettle will beep and switch to the maintain
set temperature mode.
If the current temperature of the water in the kettle is higher than the temperature
you set, the kettle will beep and turn off.
Maintaining temperature (Keep warm)
When button B3 (KEEP WARM) is pressed, the temperature 90°C will always appear
on the display and this temperature will be maintained. If you wish to maintain
adifferent temperature, use button B4 (TEMP SEL) to set atemperature in the range
40–90°C.
The selected temperature is maintained for 2 hours. When this time elapses, the
kettle will beep and switch to the stand-by mode.
Maintaining temperature can be stopped at any time by pressing button B1 (ON/
OFF).
Note:
When using the maintaining temperature mode, consider whether this
function is really necessary. You will contribute to lowering the impact of
electrical appliances on the environment.
Turning off
To turn off the kettle after use, press button B1 (ON/OFF). The button will turn off
and the kettle will turn off.
When not using the kettle, empty it out and place it away from the base stand.
When not using the kettle for an extended period of time, we recommend
disconnecting the power cord from the power socket.
PROTECTION AGAINST BOILING WITHOUT WATER
If you accidentally turn on the kettle without water, the thermostat will, after
reaching a certain temperature, interrupt the electric circuit. The kettle will turn
off, button B1 (ON/OFF) will turn off and the display will show the message ERR.
The kettle can be used again after several minutes, once the heating bottom has
cooled down.
Attention:
Even though the kettle is equipped with protection against boiling
without water, do not turn it on when empty. The incorrect use of
the kettle may negatively affect its working order and lifetime.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Attention:
Prior to any cleaning or maintenance, always disconnect the
power cord of the base stand from the power socket and allow
the kettle to cool down.
Do not wash the kettle, its base stand or power cord under
running water and do not submerge them in water or another
liquid.
To clean the external parts of the kettle, use adry cloth or acloth dipped in aweak
solution of neutral kitchen detergent. Never use solvents, cleaning products with an
abrasive effect, etc. After washing, wipe the surface with aclean, lightly dampened
cloth and then wipe dry.
Wipe the internal parts of the kettle using asoft sponge or clean cloth dipped in
clean warm water. Do not use detergents or any other chemical agents on the
internal parts. After cleaning the kettle, rinse it out several times with clean water.
To clean the base stand, use only adry cloth.
