throught the steam nozzle.
When the desired quantity of water
has run through, stop the machine
by turning first selector (7) on OFF
setting (16) , and then steam
control (6) on 0 setting.
STEAM FUNCTION AND
PREPARING CAPPUCCINO
The steam can be used to preheat
cups, warm liquids up or to prepare
cappuccino coffee. A cappuccino is
Espresso coffee with a little milk and
a layer of froth. This froth is made by
using the steam nozzle in a jug of
cold milk and then added to the
Espresso coffee.
In order to avoid excess pressure on
the inside of the filter, it is advisable
to remove the filter holder before
using steam.
To froth the milk turn the selector to
position (17) figure 6, the indicator
light (20) will start to blink. When the
indicator light (20) stays on, the right
temperature is reached.
Turn the steam control (6)
anticlockwise, figure 7, and place a
container below the steam/hot water
nozzle (3). When the water inside the
pipe finishes coming out,turn the
steam control (6) on 0 setting. Place
the nozzle inside the jug of fresh,
cold milk and turn the steam control
knob again so that steam comes out,
figure 8. (The milk must be cold).
Once the desired quantity of froth
has been produced, turn the steam
control (6) back on 0 setting, then
turn the selector (7) on OFF setting
(16) .
Lift the jug up and down slightly. Try
not to let the liquid go above the top
of the nozzle as this will prevent air
from entering. To obtain frothy milk,
place the steam pipe just under the
surface of the milk.
Add the frothy milk to the coffee. If
you want, you can sprinkle it with
cinnamon, nutmeg or grated
chocolate and decorate it with a stick
or cinnamon.
Important: Clean away any left over
milk when you have finished
preparing the froth. It is advisable to
give the nozzle a quick burst of
steam to clean it out.
Clean the steam nozzle regularly but
always with the appliance switched
off.
Remove the accessory from the
steam pipe, figure 9, and clean the
outside of the nozzle (3A) with a soft
damp cloth. The accessory (3) can be
washed under the tap. The outlet of
steam nozzle can be unclogged with
a needle.
FROM CAPPUCCINO TO COFFEE
AGAIN
If you decide to make coffee again
after having used the steam function,
the water inside the machine will be
too hot for brewing coffee.To bring
the temperature down, place a
container under the brewing head
and turn the selector on Espresso
position (15) . When the water
flows without steam, turn back the
selector on OFF setting (16) . The
machine is ready for preparing an
Espresso.
