Cleaning and maintenance
Tips and notes
• When using the grill plates for the first time, coat them with some oil first. Subsequent no more grease is
needed.
• Make sure the foods do not touch the heating element as otherwise the food might burn!
• Only season cheese after melting as spices burn at high temperatures and generate unpleasant smoke as
well as an unpleasant taste.
• If possible, the grillings should be taken out of the fridge ½ hour before you start grilling. Thus it roasts
faster and you avoid that thicker meat stays cold at the inside.
• Slightly apply oil to lean meat before grilling. The best results are achieved with small and tender pieces of
meat. Do not pierce the meat when turning, so that no juice is lost.
• For achieving a beautiful browning, sear the meat shortly. The meat is well-done when the escaping meat
juice is clear.
• Spices and marinades can develop smoke if grilled. To avoid this you may use non-seasoned resp. non-
marinated meat and rather offer seasoning mixtures and barbecue sauces after preparation of the meat.
• Salt the meat after grilling, otherwise too much meat juice will be lost.
• Sausages will be pierced already before grilling so they do not burst.
• As side dishes, we recommend crispy bread, fresh salads and cooked potatoes.
