3. Switch off completely
Switch off the appliance by turning the control knob to the left in “MIN” position and disconnect the
appliance from the power supply.
Pull the power plug after each use for safe switch-off.
4. Emptying the fondue pot
Allow the fondue pot and the remaining contents to cool down before emptying it.
Use pot cloths to remove the fondue pot from the base unit.
Empty the pot carefully.
NOTE: Fat and oil can be used several times. Fill the fat/oil into a suitable container and store it in a
suitable place for the next use.
Cleaning and maintenance
Before cleaning, always unplug the appliance and let all
parts cool down!
Never immerse base unit, power cord and plug in water or
clean them under running water!
Due to its premium ceramic coating the fondue pot is very easy to clean.
Please clean pot, glass lid and other accessory parts in warm water with some dishwashing detergent
and wipe it dry. From time to time you can clean all removable parts (except the pot) in the dishwasher.
Use a moist cloth to clean the base unit from inside and outside and also the heating plate and wipe
them dry afterwards. Make sure that no steam or water can get into the base unit from below!
Do not use abrasives or dissolvents or sharp objects!
Do not use steel wool or scouring pads!
Never use oven sprays!
Never use a steam jet appliance for cleaning the appliance and the accessories!
Tips and notes
Check the temperature of fat/oil by immersing a wooden skewer. When bubbles start to form around it,
the temperature required for fondue has been reached.
Stir sensitive foodstuffs as cheese or chocolate from time to time to avoid scorching.
To boil up water or bouillon we recommend using the cover, included in the delivery, for the pot in order
to save energy.
To make sure the appliance cannot be rocked or knocked over by accidentally pulling the cord leading
to the table, we recommend wrapping the cord several times around a table leg.
Do not add very ‘wet’ food into the frying oil, as this can cause the oil to ‘foam’ and may overflow.
Food for fondue frying should be cut roughly to the same size to ensure the food cooks evenly and
thoroughly.
Many types of food can be coated before fondue frying – typical coatings are batter or breadcrumbs.
Do not overfill the pot.
Do not mix oils and fats.
If the fat/oil is old or was used many times, discard it appropriately and completely. Do not mix old fat/
oil with new one!
