Easy Rain™ is a battery-operated, single-valve controller that works with Rain Bird
DV, PGA, PEB, and PESB valves. Easy Rain’s maximum operating pressure is 7
bars/100 psi.
START-UP
A. Hand screw the latching solenoid onto the valve. After programming, (see
below) the Easy Rain unit can be fitted over the solenoid.
B. Install a 9V alkaline battery in the battery compartment. Put the battery in the
battery compartment with the terminals on top. Tighten the lid to prevent water
damage. (Drawing 1.2.)
NOTE: Replace the battery once a year. To save the program, install the new
battery within 30 seconds after removing the old one. Do not install the battery
under damp conditions or condensation may form inside the battery compartment.
Keep water out of the battery compartment.
PROGRAMMING
1. RESET PGM POSITION
To reset or change the program, turn the programming knob to RESET PGM and
wait at least 10 seconds.
2. SELECT START TIME
Turn the dial to the yellow section to choose the number of hours until the first
watering occurs. You can choose no delay (+0), 2-hour delay (+2), 4-hour delay
(+4), etc., up to a 12-hour delay (+12) maximum. Turn the programming knob to
the desired setting and wait at least 10 seconds. If you choose no delay (+0),
watering will start one minute after you set the start time.
3. SELECT CYCLE OF IRRIGATION
This setting is the number of hours in a watering cycle and the number of
waterings per cycle. You can choose a daily watering cycle (24 hours), every other
day (48 hours), or every third day (72 hours). Turn the dial to the pink section of
the Easy Rain sticker. You can choose one (1X) or two (2X) waterings per cycle.
For example, the setting “2X72” will water twice on every third day. Wait 10
seconds before going to the next programming step.
Put the reminder loop on the chosen setting to remember the programming you
have chosen..
NOTE: Selecting a 2X cycle results in two waterings with a 4-hour soak time
interval in between. The soak time interval between waterings allows the soil to
absorb the water and prevents puddling (clay soil) or erosion (slopes).
Example : if you start programming the Easy Rain at 16:00 (4:00PM) and you set
+4 when programming the start time and you set a 10-minute run time and a 2X48
cycle, the sprinklers will run as follows:
