Preparing the Bike Carrier for use and instructions for use
The illustration numbers correspond to the text
(see illustrations on page 3 and legend on page 38).
Please note:
The left and right sides are as seen from the back of the
bicycle.
Start:
Determining the location of the Zapp Bike Carrier on the
luggage carrier
(1) Hold the Zapp Bike Carrier on the right side next to
the luggage carrier so that the suspension points (a)
and (b) fit around the horizontal bar of the luggage
carrier and the mounting point (c) fits around the
diagonal bar of the luggage carrier.
Mounting the Zapp Bike Carrier onto the luggage carrier
(2) Measure the thickness (diameter) of the horizontal
and diagonal bars of your luggage carrier.
(3) Push the two orange shot sleeves (j), with the cor-
responding diameter onto the horizontal bar and the
black shot sleeve (k) with the corresponding diameter
onto the diagonal bar of your luggage carrier.
(4) Unscrew the nuts and bolts on the suspension points
(a) and (b). Slide the Zapp Bike Carrier with the sus-
pension points (a) and (b) on top of the two orange
shot sleeves and screw it all together again.
(5) Unscrew mounting points (c), (d) and (e).
(6) Slide the mounting point (c) on top of the black shot
sleeve and screw it all together again.
(7) Important! The type of luggage carrier on your
bicycle determines how many parts (d), with
corresponding bolts (l) are required to correctly
mount the bike carrier.
Preparing the Zapp pushchair to be mounted on the Zapp
Bike Carrier
(8) Stand in front of an unfolded Zapp pushchair and tilt
it backwards against the ground. Adhere the orange
sticker with the number 1 on the right bar of the frame
that connects to the front wheel (n.1). Now adhere the
orange sticker with the number 2 at the end of the same
bar (n.2).
Hanging the Zapp pushchair on the Zapp Bike Carrier
(9) Fold the Zapp pushchair according to the instructions
in the manual. Now pick up the Zapp pushchair so
that the front wheels are facing upwards and away
from you. The orange stickers should be visible.
(10) There is an opening between the orange sticker with
the number 1 and the central bar. Hook the Zapp
pushchair with this opening onto the top hook of the
Zapp Bike Carrier.
(11) Hook the frame of the Zapp pushchair with the
orange sticker with the number 2 onto the hook (f).
(12) Now pull the ring with elastic (g) around the Zapp
pushchair and attach it to the suspension point hook (a).
Check to make sure the Zapp pushchair is mounted properly
and securely by shaking your bicycle one time back and forth!
Caring for the Zapp Bike Carrier
Check regularly to make sure everything is fastened
securely.
For reasons of safety, always use original parts and as-
sembly tools.
Never use silicon lubricants, as they will attract dirt and
grime.
Do not stretch the elastic further than is necessary.
Check the elastic frequently for wear and tear.
