OPERATION
This appliance is designed to operate in ambient temperature between 16and 32. If these
temperatures are exceeded, i.e. colder or warmer, the appliance will not operate correctly. If the
ambient temperatures are exceeded for long periods, the temperature in the freezer will rise above
-18 and food spoilage may occur.
Remove all packaging materials from the appliance. Wash the inside of the cabinet with lukewarm
water and bicarbonate of soda (5ml to 0.5 litre of water). Dry the appliance thoroughly.
When you use the freezer for the first time or after defrosting, set the thermostat to the maximum
position for at least 2 hours, and then readjust to the normal position.
Setting the temperature control
The refrigerator is controlled with a temperature control knob located inside the appliance.
˜ MIN is the lowest temperature.
˜ NORMAL is for normal operating temperature.
˜ MAX is the highest temperature.
In the STOP (OFF) position the appliance does not operate (the cooling
system is switched off), but power supply is not interrupted.
The storage temperature may be affected by:
v The room temperature
v How often the door is opened
v How much food is stored
v Position of the appliance
When you set the correct temperature, all these factors mentioned above shall be taken into account.
Shopping for frozen food
The appliance is rated as a 4 star freezer and can freeze fresh food and store pre-frozen food. When you
are buying frozen food, look at the Storage Guidelines on the packaging. You will be able to store each
item of frozen food for the period shown against the 4 star rating.
Freezing fresh food
˜ See the specifications at the rear of the booklet for the maximum permissible amount of fresh food
in kilograms that can be frozen in any 24-hour period. Never freeze more than the maximum
permissible.
˜ Fresh food should not be placed adjacent to the frozen food as the frozen food will warm up and its
quality will deteriorate.
˜ Set the temperature control to SUPER for 24 hours before freezing the fresh food. The compressor
will work continuously.
˜ Set the temperature control to NORMAL after 24 hours.
Storing frozen food
˜ All frozen food you purchase should be placed in the freezer as soon as possible to avoid them from
