Safety measures
1. Incorrect or inappropriate use of this meter can
cause damage, electric shocks or serious or fatal
injury. Make sure that you have read and
understood this user's manual before you use the
meter.
2. Make sure that all covers and the battery cover are
closed and firmly tightened.
3. Always disconnect the testing wires from the power
source before replacing the battery or fusing.
4. Never exceed the maximum nominal input values.
5. Be very careful with measurements when the
voltages are higher than 25V AC or 35V DC. At
these voltages one must be aware of the risk of
electric shock.
6. Always discharge the capacitors and remove power
from the appliance that must be tested before you
carry out diode, resistance or continuity tests.
7. Remove the battery from the meter when the meter
is not to be used for a longer period.
Voltage measurement AC/DC
Caution! Do not measure AC/DC voltages when a motor
in the circuit is switched ON or OFF. This can cause large
voltage peaks that could damage the meter. Do not
measure voltages on sockets & engines.
1. Switch the function switch to the DCV or ACV
position.
2. Touch the negative side of the circuit with the black
measuring pin. Touch the positive side of the circuit
with the red measuring pin.
3. Read off the voltage on the black meter scale.
Current measurement DC
Caution! Do not measure currents on sockets & engines.
1. Switch the function switch to the DCA position.
2. For current measurements to max. 250mA DC
switch the function switch to the mA position
3. Switch the voltage of the circuit to be tested off and
open the circuit at the point where you want to
measure the current intensity.
4. Touch the negative side of the circuit with the black
measuring pin. Touch the positive side of the circuit
with the red measuring pin.
5. Put power on the circuit.
6. Read off the current strength on the black meter
scale.
Resistance measurement
Warning! To prevent electric shocks one must cut the
power supply to the unit to be tested and discharge all
capacitors before resistance measurements are
conducted. Remove the batteries and take the plugs out
of the plug socket.
1. Switch the function switch to the Ohms position.
2. Hold the measuring pins with the ends together and
set the pointer using the black setting screw until
the pointer is on zero on the green scale.
3. Touch the circuit or part to be tested with the
measuring pins. It is best to disconnect a side of the
part to be tested so the rest of the circuit does not
interfere with the resistance measurement.
4. Read off the resistance on the green meter scale.
Battery test
1. Switch the function switch to BATTV and set the
voltage to 9V or 1.5V depending on the voltage of
the battery to be tested.
2. On the bottom red scale you can now read the
condition of the battery. “Bad“ means that the
battery is empty or nearly empty, “GOOD” means
the battery is full.
Replacing the battery
1. Remove the cover in the bottom (make sure you do
not lose the screw).
2. Replace the old battery by a new 1.5V AA battery.
3. Replace the cover in the bottom and tighten the
screw.
Specifications
