9.1 Using fuel additives
The use of fuel additives will inhibit corrosion and minimize the formation of gum deposits.
Using a fuel additive can keep fuel from forming harmful deposits in the carburettor for up to
six months. Add 23 ml of fuel additive per gallon of fuel according to the instructions on the
fuel additive container. NEVER add fuel additives directly to the unit’s fuel tank.
Warning: remove fuel cap slowly to avoid injury from fuel spray. Never
operate the unit without the fuel cap securely in place.
Warning: when the engine stops, do not touch the muffler or spark plug
immediately in order to avoid any skin from burning.
10 MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS
Warning: to avoid serious personal injury, always turn the unit off and allow
it to fully cool down before cleaning or maintaining it.
10.1 Maintenance schedule
Perform these required maintenance procedures at the frequency stated in the table. These
procedures should also be a part of any seasonal start.
Note: some maintenance procedures may require special tools or skills. If
you are unsure about these procedures take your unit to a qualified service
dealer.
Note: Maintenance, replacement, or repair of the emission control devices
and system should be performed by qualified service dealer.
After 25 hours: Clean up any dirt on the surface, clean the air filter; check the machine
whether there is fuel or air leakage and the compression systems works normal.
After 50 hours: Remove any carbon deposition from the spark plug or change the spark plug;
remove any carbon deposition from the muffler plate in the muffler.
After 100 hours: clean the cylinder exhaust hole, the top of piston, piston ring groove and
carbon deposition from the spark plug; clean the inside of the crankcase; check the ignition
system.
After 500 hours: clean and check the engine (except the crankshaft).
10.2 Blade replacement
1. Place the 8 mm Allen wrench on the blade nut (Fig. 6).
2. While holding the Allen wrench in place, loosen the nut with a 24 mm wrench by turning it
counter clockwise (Fig. 6).
3. Remove the nut and blade. Keep the nut for new blade installation.
4. Install the new blade and nut (Fig. 7).
Note: make sure the blade edges are facing the proper direction (Fig. 7).
