1a.Unscrew the self-refilling tank cap (1) (Fig. 1) and fill the tank
with about 1 litre of water, making sure it does not overflow.
During filling we recommend to disconnect the appliance
from the mains. Water tank can also be filled when removed
from Vaporella. In this case, remove the tank (3) from the ap-
pliance by pulling the lever upwards (3a) (Fig. 2). Once the
tank (3) is filled, reposition the cap and replace the tank,
making sure that it is correctly fitted to the appliance.
Water, in nature, contains magnesium and mineral salts
which aid limescale build-up. To avoid this residue may
cause problems to your appliance, use demineralized water
only.
2a.Connect the cable plug to an earthed power supply of the
correct voltage.
3a.Press the illuminated ON/OFF switch (2) (Fig. 3); both the
steam pressure (5) and the “iron heating” (10a) indicator
lights go on.
The noise you hear at times during the functioning of the appli-
ance is normal and is simply due to the water flowing from the
reservoir tank to the boiler.

Before ironing a garment, it is always advisable to check the
symbols and instructions on the label provided by the garment
manufacturer.
Check which kind of ironing is recommended, referring to the
table below:
STEAM IRONING
1b.Set the iron temperature on “COTTON - LINEN” steam posi-
tion (fig. 4), by turning the control knob (7).
2b.Wait for both the steam pressure indicator light (5) and the
“iron heating” indicator light (10a) to go off (about 3 minutes).
Press the steam request button (10) on the iron to release
steam from the holes on the soleplate. Release the button
and the steam flow stops.
NOTE: at the first request of steam, a few drops of water
mixed with steam may come out of the soleplate until the
temperature stabilizes. It is advisable to direct the first jets of
steam onto an old clean cloth until a uniform stable jet of
steam is obtained.
3b.In order to have a continuous steam jet, move the button (12)
forwards. Steam will keep on coming out, even if you release
the button. To interrupt the steam flow, move the button (12)
backwards (fig.5).
4b.By turning the steam control knob (6) you can vary the quan-
tity of steam according to the kind of textiles to be ironed
(more or less delicate). You can increase the steam flow by
turning the knob in clockwise direction. Turning it in an anti-
clockwise direction reduces the steam flow (fig. 6). We sug-
gest the maximum emission for heavy textiles like jeans,
medium for cotton and linen, minimum for light textiles.
DRY IRONING
1c.For DRYironing (without steam), set the iron temperature by
turning the control knob (7) on the position required for the
fabric, as shown on the same knob. When dry ironing, be
careful NOT TO PRESS THE STEAM REQUEST BUTTON
(10) on the iron, otherwise water may leak from the sole-
plate.
NOTE:
• Both (5) and (10a) lights go on and off during operation; this is
quite normal and means that the electric resistances are oper-
ating to maintain the system at a constant temperature.
If no steam is released from the iron, check that the steam
pressure light (5) is off.

If no steam is released when pressing the steam request button
and the indicator light (4) goes on at the same time, this means
that there is no more water in the tank.
To keep on working, simply restore the water level in the self-re-
filling tank as described in the “Preparation for use” paragraph.
