• Turn on the appliance by pressing the main
switch (2). The ON/OFF indicator light will
come on (A).
• The noise you hear when the appliance co-
mes on and periodically during use is due
to the water filling system.

Check the manufacturer’s label on the gar-
ment, and interpret the symbol on the label as
follows:
STEAM IRONING
Set iron temperature to the “COTTON - LI-
NEN” position by turning the knob (7) (fig. 4).
• Wait for the steam pressure indicator light
(B) and the “iron heating” indicator light (11)
to switch off (about 3 minutes).
• Press the button (10) on the iron to let
steam out of the openings on the plate. Re-
lease the button to stop it.
NOTE: The first time you use steam after
turning on the iron or after not using steam
for several minutes, a few drops of water
may flow out of the plate because tempera-
ture has not yet stabilised. Direct the first jet
of steam onto a clean cloth.
• By turning the steam control knob (5) you
can vary the quantity of steam according to
the type of texile to be ironed (more or less
delicate). You can use this control to in-
crease the steam flow by turning in
clockwise direction. Turning the control in
an anticlockwise direction reduces the
steam flow (fig.5). We suggest the maxi-
mum emission for heavy textiles like jeans,
medium for cotton and linen, minimum for
light textiles.
IRONING WITHOUT STEAM:
• To iron dry, without steam, set iron tempe-
rature by turning the knob (7) to the appro-
priate temperature for the fabric as shown
on the knob. When ironing without
steam, be careful not to press the steam
button (10) as water may leak out of the
plate.
NOTE:
• The steam pressure indicator light (B) and
the Iron heating indicator light (11) go on
and off during usage. This means that the
heating element is working correctly to
keep a constant pressure in the boiler. This
ia a correct functioning, just continue iro-
ning as usual.
• If no steam comes out of the iron, check the
following: the Iron heating indicator light
(11) is OFF.

If no steam issues on pressing the steam re-
lease switch and the water level warning light
(C) lights up at the same time, it means there
is no more water in the tank. To keep on
working, simply restore the water level in the
self-refilling tank as described in the “Prepa-
ration for use” paragraph.

Make sure the appliance has cooled down
completely before putting it away. Tug on the
power cable gently (9) until it clicks once, and
then accompany it with your hand as it is au-
tomatically wound up by the cable winder (8).
Carry the Vaporella by its convenient carry
handle (1).
