Dolby Digital

Dolby Digital biedt gescheiden multikanaals

(maximaal 5.1) audio. Dit is hetzelfde audiosys-

teem als wordt gebruikt in vele bioscopen.

Om te profiteren van Dolby Digital weergave

dient u de optisch digitale ingangsaansluiting

van dit toestel aan te sluiten op de optisch digi-

tale uitgangsaansluiting van een DVD-speler

met Dolby Digital decoder.

Dolby Surround Pro Logic

Wanneer u een 2 kanaals audio-disc met het

Dolby Surround Pro Logic logo afspeelt via een

voor Dolby Pro Logic geschikte AV versterker, zal

het audiosignaal worden omgezet in een 4

kanaals audiosignaal.

Dolby Pro Logic geeft betere ruimtelijke en richt-

ingseffecten waardoor u het gevoel krijgt alsof u

zich in een theater bevindt.

DTS voor Digitaal Theater Surround

weergave

DTS is een surroundsysteem dat multikanalen

audio mogelijk maakt van maximaal 6 verschil-

lende bronnen. Om te kunnen luisteren naar

DTS discs, moet u de digitale uitgangsaansluit-

ing van een voor DTS geschikte DVD-speler of

ander toestel aansluiten op de digitale

ingangsaansluiting van dit toestel.

Lineair PCM (LPCM)/Pulscode modu-

latie

Dit is de opnametechniek die wordt gebruikt op

muziek CD’s. Sommige Video CD’s hebben ook

PCM audiosporen. Terwijl muziek CD’s worden

opgenomen bij 44,1 kHz/16 bits, worden de

audiosporen van DVD-Video CD’s opgenomen

bij 48 kHz/16 bits of 96 kHz/24 bits, waardoor de

geboden geluidskwaliteit die van muziek CD’s

overtreft.

Optisch digitale ingangsaansluiting

Door audiosignalen in digitale vorm door te

seinen via de optische aansluitingen wordt het

risico van verlies van geluidskwaliteit terwijl het

signaal onderweg is geminimaliseerd. Een

optisch digitale ingangsaansluiting is een

ingangsaansluiting die speciaal bedoeld is voor

de ontvangst van optisch digitale signalen. (Om

de optisch digitale ingangsaansluiting te kun-

nen gebruiken moet de signaalbron, bijvoor-

beeld uw DVD-speler, zijn uitgerust met een

optisch digitale uitgangsaansluiting.)

Regeling dynamisch bereik

Dolby Digital heeft een functie voor het com-

primeren van het verschil tussen het hardste en

het zachtste geluid: het dynamisch bereik wordt

geregeld. Deze functie zorgt ervoor dat geluiden

met een groot dynamisch bereik ook bij lage

volumeniveaus duidelijk waargenomen kunnen

worden.
