Built-in safety lock
If you place the lid on the bowl in the right
manner, ridge (D) unlocks the built-in safety lock
and the appliance can be switched on.
For that reason, please give figs. 4 and 5 extra
attention!
Removing the cover
- Set switch (N) to position O (fig. 2).
- Move the cover in the direction of the arrow
(fig. 6).
After this, you can lift the cover from the bowl.
Removing the bowl
- Set switch (N) to position O (fig. 2).
- If an accessory and the coupling are in the
bowl, remove these first.
- Hold the motor housing with your left hand.
Move the hand grip of the bowl in the direction
of the arrow (fig. 7). After this, you can remove
the bowl from the motor housing.
Food chute (L) and pusher (M)
Use the pusher to feed ingredients through the
food chute (fig. 8).
You can keep the pusher in the food chute to
serve as a stopper while operating. This will
prevent splashing and making dust.
There is a small opening in the pusher through
which from time to time you can add liquid
(e.g oil while making mayonnaise).
Accessories
In some countries, these discs are available. You
can ask your dealer in your country.
- single-sided grating disc for fine grating
(nr. 4822 690 40183)
- chipper disc for French fries and turnip
cabbage (nr. 4822 690 40184)
- single-sided grating disc for extra fine
grating (nr. 4822 690 40185).
Metal blade
Take care: the cutting edges are very sharp!
The metal blade is suitable for chopping,
mixing, blending, puréeing, whipping and
making dough for bread, pastry and shortbread.
- Successively position the bowl, the coupling
and then the metal blade (figs. 9, 10).
- Put the ingredients into the bowl (fig. 11).
- Place the cover and put the pusher into the
food chute.
Tips (metal blade):
Pre-cut large pieces into cubes of about 3 cm
(or 1").
Avoid overprocessing due to excessive
operation. (Also when using the M setting.)
When chopping (hard) cheese, take care not to
keep the motor running too long. Then the
cheese could get warm and turn lumpy.
If food should get caught around the metal
blade, or when particles of food should stick to
the inside of the bowl:
- first switch the appliance off,
- take the cover from the bowl
- and remove the food from the metal blade or
from the bowl using the spatula.
Do not chop very hard ingredients, such as
coffee beans, nutmeg and lumps of ice: these
would blunt the metal blade.
Slicing / grating disc
Take care: the cutting edges are very sharp!
therefore, always hold the disc by its central
plastic holder.
- Put the bowl and the coupling (fig. 12).
- Place the slicing/grating disc (fig. 13) with the
side to be used facing upwards.
- Put the cover.
- Feed the ingredients into the food chute
(fig. 14).
- Set the switch to position indicated in the tables
on pages 8 - 10 (fig. 15).
- Press the ingredients downwards using the
pusher (fig. 16).
- Apply steady and moderate pressure.
Tips
Pre-cut large pieces to make them feed into the
chute.
Fill the food chute evenly for the best results.
Empty the bowl every now and then when
processing large amounts.
