3. General Guidelines
Refer to the Velleman® Service and Quality Warranty on the last pages of this manual.
• As is the case with every fridge, your CFRIG3 must be very well ventilated to ensure proper functioning.
Protect it from direct sunlight, never interfere with the ventilation air flow and do not use it in a room that
is not ventilated.
• Put the CFRIG3 on a flat surface and keep it away from heat sources.
• Leave the device switched off for at least 5 minutes when switching from heat to cool or vice versa.
• Make sure that the available voltage does not exceed the voltage stated in the specifications of this manual.
• The device is not suitable for transporting substances that are corrosive or contain solvents.
• Do not fill the compartment with any liquid or ice.
• Familiarise yourself with the functions of the device before actually using it.
• All modifications of the device are forbidden for safety reasons. Damage caused by user modifications to
the device is not covered by the warranty.
• Only use the device for its intended purpose. Using the device in an unauthorised way will void the
warranty.
• Damage caused by disregard of certain guidelines in this manual is not covered by the warranty and the
dealer will not accept responsibility for any ensuing defects or problems.
• Keep this manual for future reference.

4. Features

• can be used either as cooler or as warmer
• can be connected to 230V or 12V (e.g. car)
• with carrying handle.
5. Operation
Refer to the illustrations on page 2 of this manual.
The CFRIG3 can both heat and cool (not both at the same time, of course), selectable by means of a switch [2]
at the right side of the device (a red LED [1] lights up for warming, a green one [1] for cooling). It operates on
230Vac [4] or 12Vdc [3].
Caution: Use only one power supply at the same time. Never connect both AC and DC power cables.
a. Power connection
DC power:
1. On the right side of the device, set the function switch [2] in the OFF position.
2. Disconnect any AC power cables.
3. Connect the DC power line to the DC input [3] on the CFRIG3 and insert the other end in the cigarette
lighter socket of the vehicle.
Caution: the cigarette lighter fuse must be 5A/12V.
AC power:
1. On the right side of the device, set the function switch [2] in the OFF position.
2. Disconnect any DC power cables.
3. Connect the AC power line to the AC input [4] on the CFRIG3 and insert the other end in the mains socket
or AC power source.
b. Cooling
You achieve the best results when the cooling box is filled with food and beverages that are already
refrigerated. They will stay cool and may even become cooler still, provided the device remains switched on.
• On the right side of the device, set the function switch [2] in the COLD position. The green LED [1] will
light up.
• Leave the device switched off for at least 5 minutes when switching from cooling to heating or vice versa.
• Caution: Do not fill the compartment with any liquid or ice.
