General power tool safety warnings / Start-up
Installing the dust extraction
hood (see Fig. E)
Insert the dust extraction hood
2
into the two
fastening grooves
16
on the tool arm
15
against
slight resistance.
Tighten the clamping screw
4
. The dust ex-
traction hood
2
is now firmly installed on the
tool arm
15
.
Adjusting the dust extraction
hood (see Fig. F)
Adjust the dust extraction hood
2
so dust or
sparks are not directed at the user.
The dust extraction hood
2
can cover the
grinding spindle from various angles. Use the
locking grooves
17
for this purpose.
Following installation, rotate the dust extraction
hood
2
toward the handle
6
according to
the application and the work piece. The dust
extraction hood
2
will lock into place in sev-
eral positions.
External extraction
EXPLOSION HAZARD!
A special dust extractor must be used for explosive
dust / air mixtures.
FIRE HAZARD DUE TO SPARKING! Do not
use dust extraction when working on metal.
FIRE HAZARD! Using power
tools which can be connected to a vacuum using a
dust extraction poses a fire hazard! Unfavourable
conditions, e.g. sparking - when grinding metal or
metal pieces in wood - can ignite wood dust inside
the vacuum bag. This can particularly occur if the
wood dust is mixed with paint particles or other
chemicals and the ground product is hot after long
work periods. Therefore be sure to avoid the ground
materials and the device from overheating and al-
ways empty the vacuum bag before taking breaks.
Wear a dust mask!
Connecting the dust extraction hose
Slide the vacuum adapter
9
into the connecting
piece
3
(see Fig. G).
Slide the hose from a reliable dust extraction
(e.g. a workshop vacuum) into the vacuum
adapter
9
.
Removing the dust extractor hose
Pull the hose out of the dust extraction unit.
Operation
RISK OF INJURY! Always
unplug from the mains before working on the sand-
ing brush.
Firmly hold the power tool with both hands whilst
working and ensure a solid stance. Holding the
power tool with both hands is safer.
Note the mains voltage! The voltage of the pow-
er source must correspond with the specifica
tions
on the type plate of the power tool.
Switching on / off
To switch on the power tool, slide the on / off
switch
7
forward so the switch shows “1“.
To save power, only switch on the power tool
when in use.
To switch off the power tool, slide the on / off
switch
7
back so the switch shows “0“.
Check the grinding tool before use.
The grinding tool must be properly installed
and rotate freely. Perform a test run of at least
1 minute without load. Do not use damaged,
untrue vibrating grinding tools. Damaged
grinding tools could burst and cause injuries.
Selecting the grinding tool
Select the grinding tool according to the shape of
surface to be worked on and the material to be sand-
ed. Match the grit with the desired material removal.
