Het bekende, spannende spel voor speurneuzen
Helaas zijn jullie net te laat om Dr. Rogier
Swart in levenden lijve te ontmoeten. Hij
is namelijk zojuist vermoord. Het 29-jarige
slachtoffer was de neef van wijlen Baron
Hubertus Swart, de voormalige eigenaar
van Slot Swaenesteyn.
Dr. Swart die al op jeugdige leeftijd zijn
beide ouders verloor, werd naar Slot
Swaenesteyn gebracht om verder door
zijn oom te worden opgevoed. Baron
Hubertus wist echter niets van kinderen
en stuurde de jongen naar de beste
kostscholen van Europa. Tijdens de
vakanties zorgde de huishoudster,
Mevrouw de Wit, voor het kind.
De jonge Rogier werkte hard op school,
ging studeren en promoveerde tot doctor
in de antropologie. Na de dood van zijn
oom keerde de jongeman terug naar
Slot Swaenesteyn. De nimmer gehuwde
Baron Hubertus had zijn bezittingen
ondergebracht in een trust, waarover zijn
neef en enige erfgenaam op z’n dertigste
verjaardag het beheer zou krijgen.
Al snel ontdekte Dr. Swart dat er
regelmatig om onbekende redenen
“betalingen” uit de nalatenschap van zijn
overleden oom werden gedaan aan
onbekende personen. Werd Baron
Hubertus gechanteerd? Steunde hij één
of ander geheim doel? Of was er sprake
van een schandaal? Dr. Swart bezwoer
dat hij deze duistere zaak tot op de bodem
zou uitzoeken. Met dat doel voor ogen
nodigde hij Baron Hubertus' voormalige
relaties en compagnons uit voor een
weekend op Slot Swaenesteyn. Maar
uitgerekend tijdens dit weekend,
bijgewoond door een kleurrijk gezelschap
van gasten, werd Dr. Swart vermoord.
