FRONT, CENTER AND SURROUND SPEAKERS (cont’d)
Positioning Front Speakers (cont’d)
(including speakers with built-in powered subwoofers)
Bass Performance
If possible, position your speakers 20cm (8in) or more from
the wall behind the speakers. This will ensure better bass
performance. Ideally, the distance to the side walls should
be different from the distance to the back wall (Fig. 3).
Placing the speakers in corners may over-emphasize bass.
For more balanced bass, we recommend that you avoid
corner placement when positioning your speakers. (Fig. 4).
Positioning Center Speakers
Placing your Paradigm center speaker above the TV will
ensure the best possible clarity and intelligibility (Fig. 5).
Position the speaker flush with the front of the TV or speaker
shelf to minimize unwanted sound reflections.
Make sure your center speaker is approximately the same
distance away from the primary listening position as your
front speakers. (Some A/V receivers and processors can
electronically adjust for differences in distance.)
Positioning Surround Speakers
ADP surround speakers can be wall-mounted to the left
and right of the listening area, at approximately ear level or
higher, using the supplied hanger brackets ().
Alternatively, ADP surrounds can be placed at about ear-
level on Premier stands in the back corners of the room with
their drivers pointing at the converging walls (). They can
also be moved out from the corners and placed as close as
1m (3ft) from the listening position ().
To ensure a large reverberant soundfield, set up each speaker
with the nameplate grill pointed at the listening position.
Your ADP speakers may be marked left and right to help you set them up in a way that ensures optimal sound. If
they are, install the right speaker on your right side and the left speaker on your left. (The TV is considered the “front”
of the room.)
Direct-radiating surround speakers can be placed in position () and (), as shown in the drawing above with
their drivers pointed at the listening position. For the best possible performance, keep direct-radiating surrounds
well back from the listening area.

ENCEINTES AVANT, CENTRALE, ET D'AMBIOPHONIE (cont’d)
(Certains
