Setting the Subwoofer Controls (cont’d)
B: Procedure for Subwoofers that do not have a Sub./Sat. Phase Alignment Control
1. Turn the Subwoofer Level Control completely counterclockwise to its minimum.
2. Turn the Subwoofer Cut-off Frequency Control completely counterclockwise to 50Hz.
3. Slowly rotate the Subwoofer Level Control until you match the subwoofer output level with the level of
your front speakers. Bass should be clearly audible, but not intrusive.
4. Slowly rotate the Subwoofer Cut-off Frequency Control until you hear the best subwoofer/front speaker
blend. If the sound is too “thin”, you have not set the frequency high enough; if the sound becomes “boomy”
you have set the frequency too high. Adjust until you find the most natural balance.
5. If the bass sounds weak or “dislocated”, you may have a phase alignment problem. Turn your amplifier off and
disconnect the speaker cable from your front speakers. Reverse the polarity: connect the red (+) amplifier
terminals to the black (-) speaker terminals and the black (-) amplifier terminals to the red (+) speaker
terminals. This will switch the phase of the sub by 180º relative to the front speakers. Turn the amplifier on
and listen to determine if you hear more bass. If you don’t, turn your amplifier off and switch your speaker
cable back to its original wiring polarity. Experiment with subwoofer location to find an area of the room
where there is less bass cancellation.
LIMITED WARRANTY
For five (5) years from the date of purchase from an Authorized Paradigm Dealer (three (3) years for subwoofers
and subwoofer components in speakers with built-in subwoofers), any repair, replacement or adjustment of parts
for manufacturing and/or material defects will be free of charge to the original owner. Retain your sales receipt for
proof of purchase for warranty term.
• This warranty is not transferable.
• Removing or defacing serial number(s) will void this warranty.
• Thermal or mechanical abuse/misuse is not covered under warranty.
Warranty is void if the speakers or subwoofer have been abused (intentionally or accidentally), used in conjunction
with unsuitable or faulty equipment, subjected to damaging signals, damage by lightning, derangement in transport,
mechanical damage or any abnormal conditions, or tampered with or damaged by an unauthorized service facility.
Your responsibilities include using your speakers or subwoofer according to the instructions in this owner’s manual,
providing proof of purchase if the speakers or subwoofer need to be serviced, and providing or paying for
transportation of the product to a service facility if service is required. If the speakers or subwoofer need to be
serviced, contact your Authorized Paradigm Dealer (in Canada and the United States) or your country’s Import

to modify any product previously manufactured. This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties expressed or implied,

shall Paradigm Electronics Inc., their agents or representatives be responsible for any incidental or consequential
damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so this exclusion may
not apply to you.

B: Procédure pour un caisson de sous-graves qui ne comporte pas de commande d'alignement de phase Sub./Sat.
1. Sélectionner le niveau minimum pour la commande de niveau du caisson de sous-graves (rotation antihoraire maximale).
2. Sélectionner pour le caisson de sous-graves la fréquence de coupure de 50 Hz (rotation antihoraire maximale).
3. Faire tourner lentement la commande de niveau du caisson de sous-graves pour établir l'équilibre des niveaux entre le caisson
de sous-graves et les enceintes avant. Les fréquences graves doivent être clairement audibles, mais sans excès
. 4. Faire tourner lentement la commande de réglage de la fréquence de coupure du caisson de sous-graves jusqu'au point o˜ on
obtient le meilleur équilibre entre les enceintes avant et le caisson de sous-graves. Si la sonorité globale manque de corps, c'est
parce que la commande de niveau sous-graves n'a pas été placée à un niveau suffisamment élevé; si la sonorité devient trop
résonnante, c'est parce que la commande a été placée à un niveau trop élevée. Poursuivre le réglage jusqu'à l'obtention d'un
équilibre naturel.
5. Si la sonorité des graves semble être faible ou ¨disloquée¨, il peut y avoir un problème de déphasage. Arrêter l'amplificateur et
déconnecter le câble des enceintes avant. Inverser la polarité : raccorder les bornes rouges (+) de l'amplificateur aux bornes
noires (-) des haut-parleurs, et les bornes noires (-) de l'amplificateur aux bornes rouges (+) des haut-parleurs. Ceci provoquera
un déphasage de 180ø entre le caisson de sous-graves et le enceintes avant. Remettre l'amplificateur en marche et écouter
pour déterminer si la qualité des graves s'est améliorée. Si ce n'est pas le cas, arrêter l'amplificateur et rétablir la polarité initiale
du câblage des enceintes. Expérimenter en déplaçant le caisson de sous-graves à divers endroits dans la pièce d'écoute pour
identifier la position o˜ l'effet d'annulation des graves sera minimisé.
GARANTIE LIMITÉE
Pendant une période de cinq (5) ans à compter de la date d'achat chez un revendeur Paradigm agréé, toute intervention
de réparation, remplacement ou ajustement imputable à un vice de matériau ou de fabrication sera effectué sans frais pour
l'acquéreur initial. Conservez la facture de vente qui tiendra lieu de preuve d'achat aux fins de la garantie.
• Cette garantie n'est pas transférable.
• Cette garantie est révoquée si les numéros de série des enceintes sont enlevés ou illisibles.
• Cette garantie ne couvre pas les détériorations imputables à surcharge thermique ou traitement
mécanique abusif.
La garantie ne sera pas honorée dans les cas suivants: emploi abusif (intentionnel ou accidentel) des enceintes, utilisation en
conjonction avec un équipement défectueux ou inadéquat ou injection d'un signal trop puissant, détérioration par la foudre, perturbation
imputable au transport, dommage mécanique ou toute situation anormale, ou dommage ou intervention par le personnel d'un
établissement de service non agréé.
Le propriétaire des enceintes a pour responsabilité de les utiliser conformément aux instructions de ce manuel, de produire
un document constituant une preuve d'achat à l'appui de toute demande de service sous garantie, et de payer tous les frais
de transport des produits jusqu'à l'établissement de service si une réparation est nécessaire.
Advenant que des réparations soient nécessaires sur des haut-parleurs, contactez le revendeur Paradigm agréé (au Canada
et aux États-Unis), ou dans un autre pays l'importateur/distributeur. Pour d'autre information, consultez le site Internet
